I just bought the Freespace bundle during the last promo. That was so awesome, had a blast reliving the old days. Though the graphics are shit compared to current space games, the sense of immersion never gets old. Although there's no solid "space ship" HUD like Wing Commander, it's amazing how well a 1998 game can make you feel like you're part of the battle

FS2Open says hi.

Nah, too much trouble to set it up. I'm going to wait till I finish FS1 before I play FS2 on it

FS1 is playable under FS2Open.

The only thing I found really "bad" about the Freespace series was the limited resolution in 1 (which FSOpen obviously fixes). I still think Freespace 2 looks amazing out of the box.
Awesome, thanks.

I agree... Freespace 2 is still amazing looking, even without the FSOpen upgrades. It just goes to show how much good design matters.

I do love this service. I purchased Rise of the Triad and Descent 1/2. This has been the first time I've used a digital store and not felt shafted. I know that my purchases will function even if they eventually close down. I just hope they can get more games. There are lots of games from the "90s and early "00s that I would love to play.

I bought Beyond Good and Evil from Steam for 4.99€. The day after I learned that it was up at GOG too. Boohoo.
The best thing about that game is the soundtrack. It is absolutely phenomenal boner-worthy material.
