Hm, sorry for the lack of answer before, I had no idea this thread was here as I don't browse the section often. I only just saw it on the forums listing, clicked, and was surprised to see it wasn't in Tech.
Anyway, I see the photos came out fine, a bit fuzzy, but more than clear enough for what they were supposed to show. I'd probably suggest updating the (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125263) Tech thread as well, if you have the time, for those who don't come in this part of the forum too often.

A single question mark is enough.

I don't want to come across as speaking for him, but most of the stuff you asked is in his first post, have another look through it:

The Dell has better colour reproduction, lower black levels [...]

Different technology is the most likely reason, e-IPS is a newer type of panel.

There's a typo in there, the model you're looking for is the 220
9WA. It's not old, the first two digits indicate panel diagonal, and the last two indidcate the year it was launched. Here's two UK vendors:

Yup. You want to look for a
2209WA, exactly that name. There are some other Dell monitors with 2209 in them, but you don't want those because they aren't IPS panels.

Lower black is better. Basically, it means less light on black, therefore better representations of "black".
And it's no problem, don't worry.

I should also point out the Dell has a matt screen, unlikc the NEC's glossy.

I could use some help.
I am having a problem when reading books, scrolls, etc... or going to the menu screen in Thief 2 FM games. Occasionally It shows a window reading that there are problems with the resolution being too low and recommending that I change it to a higher 1680x1050. My monitor is a 22" flat screen LCD HPw2207 - I believe the factory default resolution should be 1680 x 1000 but it will not allow that setting without enlarging the desktop and having to scroll up and down and right and left to view the entire desktop with icons and toolbars. The setting I am using that looks and works the best for me, using a dual monitor setup. is 1600 x 1000. My question is, how can I keep that setting on my monitor and get Thief (Darkloader) to use that setting?

DDfix fixes this.

Thanks for the help, I had already downloaded the fix but had not ran the DDfix.exe file. A lot of good that was doing me??? :o
So, after reading your reply, I read the installation instructions, clicked on the DDfix.exe file and saw the resolution options and set them. Again thanks.
