I wouldn't want to skip that part, you get a nice armor in the room where the hybrids come from.

I don't know if this has already been mentioned but you don't even need to engage the Shotgun zombies to get the armor in that room.
[SPOILER]You can sneak up to the room with the armor by breaking the window that dylan barry mentioned and going out the door that exits to the hall with the Turret (Use a speed hypo or your going to die). You can enter the room with the armor and the two Shotgun Hybrids won't even spawn in since they're trigger is further up the hall.[/SPOILER]
If you want to be fair just go to the end of the hall and around the corner.

Anyways, I usually destroy that turret. It doesn't take too many cryos if you hold down the mouse button for as long as possible without overloading.
