I'm looking for suggestions for good coop games to play with my girlfriend. PS4 local coop, or PC - any.
She really enjoyed Portal, and we're having a blast with Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (so the sequel to that is definitely on the list).
Preferably nothing too mindlessly shooty - the puzzles in Lara Croft are more appealing than the combat.
Go! :cheeky:

Have you tried any of the old school Traveller's Tales Lego games? They're pretty awesome co-op.

Well, I would say Magicka, but it's practically the de facto definition of mindless.
So what would be my 2nd recommendation? OVERCOOKED!

Ooh, you started off with two of the best. The sequel to LCatGoL isn't that hot, was pretty buggy when we tried it. Try Trine 2 for something immediately joyful (conveniently, I have a spare PC key available if you want to try it), and if you're into long-term RPGing, Divinity: Original Sin is a hoot.

The only downside to Overcooked is that you might just end up hating the people you're playing with, especially if they can't follow instructions.
And speaking of D:OS, Original Sin 2 might be the better game to play, since it gives you plenty of chances to split up your party and have your characters do their individual things to complete certain quests. It's coming out exactly a month from today, so keep it in mind if you still have the co-op itch a month from now.
Oh, and it's coming with it's own D&D style tabletop RPG simulator packed in, too.

If I had the motivation and the energy and the go-getting personality to create a fucked up fantasy campaign for people to play, I would totally get cracking on that when D:OS 2 releases.
(Is the sin twice as original if you're dealing with it in a sequel to it?)

I've heard good things about Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, though I haven't played it myself.

It's still the same original sin, so it's about equal.
Though if there is one thing about D:OS2 I'm still mixed on, it's that it's a much more dour, serious game than the original (sin). There are still the occasional moments of goofy fun, but it's no where near so prevalent as it was previously.

Curious to see that in action. I disliked the writing and tone in D:OS, to the extent where I don't remember anything much about the game's plot and characters. It's not that I want my RPGs to be dour, but I want the games to have a coherent, believable world and characters, and for me the humour of D:OS was generally at the expense of those things.

I second all of that, but would clarify that when we(me, Sulph, Jesh) tried the second Lara game it was buggy netcode messing it up. If you're playing locally you'll probably do fine.
Overcooked does look like a blast.
