I'm interested but these are quite a lot of big pics. Could you perhaps link a best of?

When I was a kid, I used to live near a sewer pipe, that was large and went on for a long, long distance, and me and my mates used to love crawling down it - up to our knees in shit and rats - to see who could get the furthest. Of course, we didn't understand about the subtleties of bacteria and stuff at that age, but it was still fun nonetheless.
And seeing the pics in this thread have reminded me why I became an engineer - although not on the same scale as the stuff displayed.
I can remember the Mary Rose being raised from the bottom of the Solent, and thinking 'YES - I have to do that', but being more than content in working in a factory and having stuff 'blow up' and thinking Yeah, I have a talent for fixing this kind of shit. I aint ever found a machine or a thing yet that I cant fix, cos if its broken, its fixable ha ha.
Some of those pics are awesome though, like the bloke in front of all those stantions, posted by Tungsten:thumb:

I've always thought about doing the tunnels on campus, but they've been getting stricter about that around here, and I really don't want to press my luck after April. Still, there's a ton of construction going on all the time, and I'm just so damned curious...

Well, we refrained from waste sewage, but rainwater sewers were fair game! Still though, the amount of crap people dumped into the road sewers, it's probably just as bad as the crap you ran into!
