I guess the only way you can find out is to test it. But who's got that kinda time?
Bjossi on 22/3/2008 at 03:22
I did start a new game to test it, changed the number from 10 to 2. And after some sky watching I'm pretty sure things function as they should.

In retrospect, I really don't see how they wouldn't. Unless the behaviour of the daytime shadows is completely fucked to hell. Aside from the shadows, all WO really is is replacement textures for the existing sky.
I think the only way to really be sure, though, is to sit and watch it for a whole in-game day.

That is a whole lot of time if we go by lower numbers.
But if we use higher numbers, we'd be able to get the same test results in a much shorter time. ;)

I think each sky texture is fixed to a certain time of the day, so if you slowed it down enough the transitions would be too sharp maybe?
Oh and SWO includes that shader project, not only sky.

Perhaps I should let the author of SWO know about this: The time factor seems to work perfectly with the mod. I mean, you said above that each time of the day isn't bound to real-time, but in-game time. So no matter how much we slow things down, it will always work.
As for each sky change being too sharp as time progression slows down; could be. But we could always ask the author of SWO very nicely to add more states, if this turns out to be very noticeable. :p

Didnt like Weather overhaul very much. Some stuff looked really cool (Inside Freedom base during a bright day for example) but overall the colors are way too overstated (especially at dawn/dusk. "Dayum i got strawberry jam on my goggles again"). I did keep some of its settings tho like the fake AA and sunshine adjustments.

I agree there. He needs to adjust the colors a bit.
He could simply watch a real dawn and dusk to get an idea of the colors...

To make them look real the author simply hadn't to change them :) Colors are pretty much real in original game, the game's look is based upon photos after all. It's just that people are used to oversaturated colors in games and often think the more colors the better.

Serious Sam 1 & 2 are good examples. :p
Anyway, I posted about the exaggerated dusk/dawn colors in the author's thread on the GSC forums.
