Well, he's not tall. Broad certainly. Babushka means baby if memory serves so that's just about as appropriate. He doesn't show up in the encyclopedia so I didn't know what to call him.

The "Protect Stalkers at Agroprom" is a misnomer. No idea which group of Stalkers it refers to (prolly those in the middle where the stash box is.
On the map it always refers to the camp in the gully next to the village, but to complete it you have to wander up the the farmhouse where you dealt with the snitch and take care of four mercs that are usually there. I don't know why they are there or if they mean to attack that camp, but they never used to. Maybe at the very end of the 1 day mission duration, but Inever waited that long to find out.
After the mod, I thought I could take my time, but I wandered over and the mercs were moving to attack right away ( the camp occupants, like Father Diodor, were over the hill though). The second time I got that mission it was bandits and a merc and they too were practically on top of the place by the time I got there.
Makes a nice change.
The mod seems to have made some errors worse; there were monster part missions for Sakharov that were mixed up. The mission will say 'Bring a Boar's Hoof' but the text will say to bring a pseudodog tail and that's what you need to finish the mission. Likewise 'Bring a Pseudodog tail's text would ask for a boar's hoof and that's what you must bring. Now the text has been corrected but not the mission; so the Boar's Hoof mission actually asks for a boar's hoof in the text, but you still need a psudodog tail to complete it etc etc.

All these years I've been listening to that Kate Bush song all wrong! (thanks to whoever it was who told me that). Oh well

I've always thought that 'babushka' was some sort of affectionate term for an old woman. The equivalent of something like 'granny', even though the person in question might not be your grandmother.

Yes, that's more correct.

Has anyone here tried Sgt Kelly's and James Blake's weapon mods? Both cause my game to crash out when I enter the Bar area (More specifically, just after I've crossed the trench where the dogs are). Anyone had this problem and managed to fix it? Or can someone recommend another weapon revamp mod, preferably one that gives the traders a selection of unique/new weapons for sale?

Are you running any other mods? Trying to use any two mods which replace any of the same files is a bad idea.
Have you got the right game version for the mod?
The fact that the game crashes when you walk over the trench suggests that the game is trying to load a script, item, stash or something else that it doesn't like. I had a similar problem in Cordon when I modded the makarov so that it no longer took the 9x18mm +P+ rounds. I presume that a bandit somewhere had his loaded with them and when I got close enough that the game tried to load him, it crashed.
My guess is that either the modders completely screwed up their mods, you're using the wrong version of stalker or you're trying to mix incompatible mods.

Probably the Barkeep with the new items.

Bums :(
I'm only running one mod at a time, so I guess they're not compatable with 1.0005 (I couldn't see anything in the readme about what version they were built for).

I've happened upon an amusing bug. In aliVe somewhere they've added these extra missions you can do for people, like bring weapons for the rookies and such. One of them is get a mamas beads and a battery for Sakharov and he'll give you some weapon he's working on. I never find those things, so I had to wait until the stash came up in Pripyat that has one. So I bring them back to hand them over and he gives me a Gauss Mk2, which is very nice. But for some reason the artifacts don't get taken and the quest is still there. So I hand them over again and get another gauss gun. They still don't disappear. So I unload the one I don't want and sell it back to him, complete the quest again. And again, and again. I wasn't sure if the bug would stick after I reload or moved to a different level so I thought I'd better make the most of it...
5 million Rubles later;
everyone guarding the scientists has one (who'll take one. You can't talk some of these idiots out of their sawn off shotguns), I carry basically nothing but a gauss rifle and gauss rounds and food (I'd love it if no one can repair them. That'd make sense) and I'm off to arm the entire zone.
