I can't get SS2 working properly, so I've moved on to the next game on my list. (DX1, Obviously) I've never got very far before, but this time I'm not going to just mess around.
To Liberty Island! :D

Done Liberty Island, Report as follows:
At the start, downgraded pistols, got Low-Tech weaponry, lockpicking, multitooling, hacking, and chose the third face.
I spoke to Paul, got the GEP gun, and proceeded to beat the stuffing out of several NSF troopers and other assorted animals with my baton which i nicked off of a dead guy. I also used a TNT crate to get at the med bots.
At the north dock, I annoyed Filben by stealing his soda and using my rather large lockpick, opened up the hatch on the sunken ship. I then climbed up the crates around the statue, tranquilised the guards, and ran in. Then out again as I had forgotten to disable the turrets. Disabled them, tranquilised the guards inside, and used the nicely placed LAM to blow up the tripwires, which caused the rest of the guards to stand there and say "I know I heard something" :laff: Used my riot prot on them and 'rescued' Hermann.
I stole his wine, and ran around the rest of the statue, pausing to steal 200 credits from account 230023. Then hacked into the machine to get even more, but it wouldn't let me. :( After that, I ran up several flights of stairs, gassed the guards at the top, gassed the guards above them, and moaned at the Commander for not holding the ambrosia in some easily accessable location close to hand. Then I stole all the rest of the stuff around the place, and ran back to base.
Paul commended me for not killing anyone, said he would meet me on level 2, and proceeded to walk out of the base. Inside I annoyed everyone by playing basketball, opening all the doors and hacking into their e-mail accounts. Manderley then told me to go downstairs and talk to Reyes and Carter. I went to do so, but not before teasing Gunther about his inability to hit the 'Orange' button on the Drinks Machine.
Downstairs, I stole Anna's stuff, stole Alex's stuff, got some rubbish from Carter, and raided the hospital. Installed the aug 'Combat Strength' Then it was back up to Manderley who told me to go to New York. I suppose I'm off then. Upgrade rifle skill to trained, and climb on the boat.

I find that when I dowgrade Pistols at the start I still get level 1 Pistols (I forget the name, sorry), even though my available and used points are correct for selling the pistol skill. Does anyone else get that?
Edit: I too rather enjoyed your progress report.

20 days, hope this isn't a dead thread revival offence. Many of these bugs, including the "pistol downgrade trick", were fixed an older patch ( v1014f ) but reappeared with the multiplayer patch :erg: If you have the original release, I suggest patching to v1014f only and no higher. I also find it more stable than the latest. If you have a version that comes ready-patched ( such as GOTY ) you cannot "unpatch" to a lower version, sorry.

I'd have revived the thread eventually anyway. :)
In other news, I've been too busy to play. However, I have a new computer now, so maybe I can get the game to run in high detail without major lag. :D
(Makes me glad I've only got to the end of Liberty Island.)

Er... Necromancy much?
After a year, I have finally got around to installing DX1 again and having a go. With that graphics enhancement that was mentioned some time ago. Makes the baton look a lot less flimsy at least.
Anyway, I did more-or-less the same as what I did last time. Only I took more weapon skills at the start, and chose microfibrial muscle instead of combat strength. And I ran back to base with only one leg and 4 points of health in my torso. I'm running around Hell's Kitchen getting killed due to ladder design at the moment, but everything else has been quite fun. I may post what else I've done so far later. Have to play from my last save in the MJ12 area... I hate ladders.
