This may be common knowledge, but a quick search suggested not.
If you open up a mission in DromEd, go in game, then back to the editor, you will find the "Player" object in the centre of the screen. Looking though its properties, under Player, is name (it is not set in the archetype "The Player", so you do have to go in game to see it). The value set is: Da Avamatar.

Da Avamatar would be an unusual name to say the least. I like Goggles better.
Nameless Voice on 20/6/2007 at 21:12
That's set by the PlayerScript script when the player object is initialised.
You're not proposing that it's Goggles' name, are you? Since it's obviously a corruption of 'The Avatar'.
The Pixie on 20/6/2007 at 21:22
I had struck me that it was derived from "The Avatar". Does that mean it cannot be his name? Why is it added to the Player -> Name property if it is not the player's name?
Bjossi on 20/6/2007 at 21:23
What is Goggles' real name anyways? Wilson?
ZylonBane on 20/6/2007 at 21:24
Goggles doesn't have a name, only a number.

Soldier G65434-2
I would assume that the Player->Name property is just set to a default value, and is either used in multiplayer games, or is maybe a part of a system that was later not implemented.

yes, but he is not a number, he is a man! :erm:
Bjossi on 20/6/2007 at 22:04
Yes, and chances are his mother named him something else than 'Soldier numbers'.

His name is Robert Paulsen!
Someone had to.
