So what y'all think about this then?
Their single "Crazy" (see embedded video) got to #1 on the UK singles-chart. Of course, this is the same country that also had that Crazy frog shit at #1 so I guess that doesn't say much. Those crazy brits will probably vote for anything that has "crazy" in the title coz they can relate to it coz they're all CRAZY IN THE HEAD HAHAHAHAHAHA
ANYWAY
The group consists of producer DJ Dangermouse(he made "The Mouse and the Mask" with MF Doom, "Demon Days" - Gorillaz, "The Gray Album") and rapper/singer Cee-Lo(from Goodie Mob), he only raps on one track on the album tho.
I've been listening to the album, St. Elswhere, for the past two days and it's alright. A few tracks - like "Crazy", the Violent Femme's cover "Gone Daddy Gone" and "Just a thought" - I got my attention right away. And the rest of it... well, it's growing on me.

Hello there, we're one of those new beat combos.
We're called Gnarls Barkley.
That's right, with a "G" and an "N".
Yes, "Gnarls".
Barkley, yes.
See! It's memorable because you already remember how WEIRD and STRANGE and dare I say CRAZY it is.
Yes, CRAZY, like one of the tunes from our first album.
No, Mr Barkley is not a real person.

When you mentioned Cee-Lo I got a bit excited when I thought I was dealing with the guy who did the mid-90s song-most-likely-to-get-the-girls-movin' hit "I Wish". But that was Skee-lo.
Anyway, Colonel Abrams did this shit years ago. Nnnnnext.

I really like the song "Crazy", but that's all I've heard (about 77 times, I'll admit).
Also I like how Brits use the term "bless your soul" where Americans would say "what an idiot".

Huh. I went in with an open mind (slightly favourable expectations with DJ Dangermouse's name in the credits, I suppose), but came out with three minutes less in my life and nothing at all memorable to show for it.
That was perhaps the very definition of mediocre, I think. It's not even shit. Even the Gnarls Barkley name is a perfect shade of uninteresting.

I loved look and the concept of the video. Too bad the content was so bland. What a waste. The electronic rhythm section stripped out any soul the song might have had.

I like it. :D Thanks for the heads up Henke!
Edit: The music reminds me of Moby but the video is more like:

Did I mention our album is called St Elsewhere?
Yes, as in Saint.
I know, isn't it gloriously RANDOM???!!!?!?
It doesn't mean anything, no.
Gingerbread Man on 29/4/2006 at 07:58
It was an 80s television show. Hospital-drama with Ed Begley Jr and Howie Mandel, of all people.
Or were you being sarcastic?
IT'S SO HARD TO TELL SOMETIMES
(edit: oh wait it went off the air the year you were born god I'm old)

I NEVER SAW NUTTIN', BOSS
Besides, that's in some ways even more DELICIOUSLY RANDOM LOL
