I'm still waiting for you to come back with yours, god ferkin' dammit.
@tBM: Thanks for those links. I, of course, headed right over to the guitar tabs first and proceeded to get swamped. This is fun! :D Thanks again.

Anytime. A suggestion: There is always time to do a little practice. If you watch TV (Sports or whatever) keep the gitfiddle next to your chair. Pick it up and do a few minutes of practice during the commercials (now running 3 to 5 minutes).
And start by learning three basic chords in the key of your choice. The usual start is C F G7.
Have fun and, if your fingers get a bit sore, try putting a layer of KrazyGlue or equivilent on the tips of your chording hand. I would have said left, but you may be one of the widdershins type players :)
Just put a few drops on the tips, LET IT DRY WELL, and it acts as a second skin. When your callouses build up you can stop. A mere five to ten minutes a day will build up your fingertips in a week or two.
Good luck
Dusty

usual start on guitar is in the key of G, so G C D, forget about F if you are a total beginner

Actually it's EADGBE.

I was waiting for someone to say that. Toldja I didn't know much. ;)
Whatsit now? EAGDBE? I thought it was EBGDAE actually. That's what Google and my instruction notes say, anyway.
Thanks, tBM and PigLick. Definitely agree about the practice. My fingers initially felt like they'd been twisted into knots, but it's slowly getting easier.

6th string to 1st string (top to bottom) is EADGBE

F was way too hard for me when I first started.

Don't use a full Barre fingering. Just use the first 4 strings. EBGD to make the chord (Strings not notes).
Or, to make it easier 1st and 2nd first fret (use the first finger on both). 3rd 2nd fret (second finger), 4th 3rd fret (third finger).
