Interesting djflip can i ask for better directions to this place?
I'm not aware of any strongholds around gniss except that of the tevanni wizard but i don't seem to remember anything like what you described in his place.....?
Also if you like daedric weapons check my 'daedric weapon of your choice' thread to get more. :)

This is the same burial tomb where the 2 female wizards are looking for the tomb of "whateverhisnameis". Inside is a bunch of skulls with daggers in them. a few baddie monsters, and the aforementioned items. Its been talked about before.
Search for scamps/crystals.
Its a cave with crystals and scamps.
And those 2 female wizards.
good luck.

Tips on raiding the Hlaalu Vaults in Vivec:
You'll need the following items (in order of priority): Amulet of Open-All (custom made, 100 charge amulet of Open Lock 100 on touch (22-24k)), Amulet of Shadows (unique item, look it up).
Probes are a bonus too, especially if you've got very low health.
There are 2 doors, one with a level 90 lock, and one with a level 95 lock. After those two doors, you'll find around a dozen chests full of gems and gold (SKIP!!!), and on the right a full set of glass armor, and several ebony and glass weapons. This is what you're going for.
Inside this vault, there are 2 ordinators. One is in the far corner, and cannot see the area around the armor. The other is directly in front of the armor, but every so often walks over to the other ordinator. What you need to do is open the door (the 95 lock door that swings INTO the vault), and trap the 2 ordinators in the corner. At that point, you can steal all of the armor/weapons.
I got myself up to 170,000 gold from 20,000 gold by selling all this crap to the Creeper in Ghorak Manor (Caldera). It will likely take a LOT of buying and selling (took me around an hour to do), but you'll be set for the rest of the game.
I'll post information on the other two vaults later (once I finish getting Eltonbrand).

Heh, Hlaalu was my first Vault. It went something like this. (Inexperienced mind you)
Drop everything except 1 grandmaster probe/1 Grandmaster lockpick + 2k in gold.
Get caught everytime I unlocked the door, but at the same time, they got unlocked, for 6 gold or something. I got both doors open, walked in. Said whats this green stuff?
Oh my.
nuf said.

Amulet's of Open? Chameleon enchantments? Pah, you do injustice to real thieves. A probe, a lockpick, and a good sneak score with some patience is all you need :thumb:

Given the description (the skeleton impaled by a Daedric spear & dagger) I'd guess this is Berandas, and as with the rest of 'em it's on the map.

red,
Berandas is the place you are looking for. I think I was lv 47 when I went there. You can also find some 50,000gp flying boots (ar 80 light) which you can use to fly up and save a dunmer lady who "was captured by two winged twilights" I think on the other side of her perch there are 2 locked chests lv60 or so. happy hunting
