I wasn't harping on anybody with my post. I was just making a point. Like I said I didn't read through all the posts.

obviously written with entertainment in mind, but which failed to recognise the fact that most people will appreciate seriousness & honesty when being asked for money, especially when they don't have much themselves.
That might be true,
if you totally ignore the following 3 paragraphs of my post. You know, the part that laid bare the genuine meaning that the issue has for me because of seeing its day-to-day effects, how inspired I am by my gf, and how much I want to help. I mean, that 90% of the post was easy to overlook, so it's unsurprising that you missed it.
Raph - don't think there's a way to get Paypal working directly, but PM me, and we can figure something out.
I don't expect anyone to come out of pocket with money they don't have - I'm not working myself at the moment, so I can completely understand money being tight or being better spent elsewhere. If you can, great, if not, no explanations necessary. Like I said, I'm humbled anyone is willing to chip in at all, so if all you can provide is a "Good luck!" the sentiment alone is appreciated.

It's nice that you all like RBJ so much, but keep thinking with your own heads.
I don't like RBJ. But I really didn't see anything too wrong with his post. Yes, he has a history, but so does RK/BR#.

Since every dolt considers Rogue Keeper fair game now I feel I have to say something. Rogue Keeper gave an insensitive but actually very
adequate response to a charity request that was obviously written with entertainment in mind, but which failed to recognise the fact that most people will appreciate seriousness & honesty when being asked for money, especially when they don't have much themselves.
Then the Commchat "family" overreacted, like they always do when they feel one of their loved ones has been mistreated, and jumped collectively at Rogue Keeper.
Note that not everyone here knows RBJ since the beginning of time. Also note that not a single one of you considered "she'll live" to be a jokey remark but just horribly tasteless, while "Give me money, or the girl dies" was obviously a joke to you even if it wasn't really funny either. That's plain double standards.
It's nice that you all like RBJ so much, but keep thinking with your own heads.
I'm quoting the entirety of your post because it is all wrong, from the very first word to the last.
RBJ's initial post was a generous summary of the cause for which is is raising money and how the cause directly touches his life, with a little humor mixed in there to soften the fact that he is asking for donations. His approach is warm, direct, and honest. You may feel like he is attempting to emotionally manipulate you into donating money, and you'd be completely right, as without such emotional directness many of us can simply write this off as "regrettable thing that sucks and all but isn't my problem." Fair enough, but it
is his problem, and the problem of many, and it is within our power to try to do something about it.
Rogue Keeper's reply--see also gunsmoke's comment above--has no element of humor whatsoever and amounts to a trivialization of RBJ's case for donations. There is nothing inherently wrong with writing off the troubles of another because you've got your hands full with your own problems--we all do it, to some degree--but making this public with equal parts snark and dismissal betrays an utter lack of tact and maturity that I find quite baffling.
The reaction of the CommChat "family" has less to do with overreaction or fondness for RBJ than that most of us grew out of proud myopic cynicism years ago. While I think your healthy fondness for swimming against an unjust current is generally commendable, I do think in this case it is seriously misplaced.

This just in: Insensitive thread spawns an insensitive reply on TTLG. Assmonkeys are being forked out of the forum. Is this the end of Commchat?

Rug Burn Junky, I am very worried about your girlfriend, she is such a beautiful... And he has a very sweet looking. These things hit my heart, even if I know that I should be impartial in front of the diseases. I wish her the best for the future.
However, I can't donate, until they keeps to using dogs or monkeys in their research, and damage/coutout their galls to tests their medecines. Adding: the animals were full healthy before they enter in that hell who has name laboratories. If one day, they will decide to use yardbirds as guineapigs, I will feel very happy to donate to research.
Anyway this specific case touches my heart, I think that I can donate 10 euro :thumb:

If you can learn to string a sentence together in perfect English I'll happily leave. Otherwise, go fall into a burning asshole. I didn't say anything to deserve that.

Yeah, that looks like an eloquent preface to a sound argument.
