I got a couple of friends with type II, and to me it's amazing that they have full lives on top of what they have, when fighting the disease seems to be a full-time chore all by itself. Not to say that it's a good thing to have their condition, but it almost seems that they are the persons they are *because* of the adversity they cope with and not *despite* it.
