On a more serious note, I appreciate all the replies, this sounds like a lot of fun. GBM, your last line kinda "sealed the deal" for me. Thanks. I will not hesitate in purchasing this game

Kitten related spoilers ahoy:
Why has there never been a society like that dedicated to Farkus or Burricks or Longdaddy in Deus Ex, for the kitties who get massacred by the greasels in Paris? Then again, since they're already dead when you arrive, it'd have to be more of a retribution society...
Justice to the Kitties! :weird:

I just borrowed the game from someone, and I love it. I'm gonna buy it as soon as I get back to the States (provided I can find it).

Because of this thread I am currently back in Paris, trying not to tread on cats.

A stray cat has been left a large house in north London and a £100,000 trust fund by an elderly woman he befriended.
Tinker, who is thought to be about eight years old, made friends with Margaret Layne, 89, before she died last year.
Mrs Layne's will, which has just been published, stated that Tinker should be able to stay in the £350,000 house in Harrow until he dies.
Mrs Layne had no children and her estate is worth £585,912.

I think (and this is paraphrasing a bit) that the best description of Deus Ex's finer points was make by PC GAMER UK when they said it features.
Men in black. Women in black. Other people totally unconnected to MIB who wear black any way. Trenchcoats. Sunglasses worn indoors. Pacifism. Ultra-violence. Frankenstein like-pathos. Big bastard robots. A plot whos major elements alters depending on how you play. Swords. Devastatingly effective throwing knives. That little beep-beep sound when the GEP gun locks on. Really bad voice acting in the hong kong levels. Deus Ex has everything.

And that beep beep when a LAM's gonna detonate and you know you have less than one second to find it and deactivate it and...
That beep beep is one my fave adrenaline rush in the game.
