So ... why do people keep voting for the big parties which have lied to them in the past?

At least that was true. :p

I think a lot of people just don't like the idea that there is no-one to represent them. There's also the misguided feeling that the hard-won right to vote gives us an obligation to vote. That would be okay if there was a 'None of the above' box on the voting form, but I can't see that happening any time soon.

Here in the states we have a write-in space for most elections if you do not wish to choose from those in the pool.
After the bigger elections papers do various articles about
"500 people vote Darth Vader as fill-in" or some such.

New Yorkers never do anything in moderation. Just look at the political parties - they either lean so far left that Stalin would blush or they end up so right wing they all shave their heads and goose step down 5th Avenue. Moderation is a foreign word in New York.

Is that 82% in America a figure for the entire population? Or just those who can actually get treatment?

Stronts doesn't live in London, and if he did I assume he'd vote for the Lib Dem Candidate.
As for Galloway, his relevance to just about anything outside his own constituency is rather less than a major US Presidential Candidate. And no-one has even talked about him in years anyway.
