I noticed this from the thread a few days ago about our own str8g8 winning some Steampunk site's "Best Steampunk City-scape" award, then a few posts below that was the post about Gilliam doing 1884. I almost posted it then. The name reminds me of Space: 1889, but reading that description doesn't look like any connection. It's hard not to think this is going to be a good genre for him.

Gilliam's artistic sensibilities and attention to detail (take any frame from Brazil) would lend well to the concept. Problem with Gilliam is, the story tends to wind up lost in the details.

Gilliam just demonstrates that story is as irrelevant to film as it is to gaming, imho. :)
