I'm trying to get TG FMs working with an install of T1, and no matter what patches I apply or the order I apply them in, I can't get it working. (I can open TG FMs, but the weapons don't appear when I select them, or I get (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=141239&p=2184288&viewfull=1#post2184288) weird glitches.) I'm on Win 7 64-bit with nvidia GT 555M if that helps.
I know it's possible cuz I've got Between These Dark Walls and The Unseen working on my back-up laptop with Windows XP, but that laptop is blessed with Intel integrated graphics. I thought I remembered what I had done to get it working (clean install/TFix/tg-patch-basic.exe/copy convict.osm/darkloader tweak), but either I misremembered or it's just not working with Win 7.
So - can anyone provide a step-by-step guide on how to get TG FMs working with TDP (or point me in the direction of one if it already exists)?
Or should I just get TG from GOG? :)

You need the Thief Gold patch. Look in the Fan Mission forum's FAQ thread.

hmm, I will probably integrate this into TFix. do note that applying this patch after TFix is probably a bad idea, as it overwrites the gamesys.
no time to test, but to get a fully working result, one would probably have to install TFix, back up the gamesys (dark.gam), apply the gold patch, restore the TFix gamesys.

Gave it a go with no joy - however, I've realised the problem isn't with Thief Gold; after doing a clean install of TDP then applying TFix 1.15, I had a go with Calendra's Cistern and got the same problem of weapons not appearing.
Could my registry be messed up? CAVEAT: no idea what I'm talking about, but I raise the possibility as:
1) I first did an install to C:\T1, but then tgpatch_basic wouldn't install as it seemed to demand a folder named 'Thief'. So;
2) I uninstalled then reinstalled to C:\T1\Thief and applied TFix and tgpatch_basic. When that didn't work;
3) I uninstalled again, reinstalled (again to C:\T1\Thief), applied TFix, tested Calendra's Cistern, saw it didn't work and
buried my head in my arms and wept (after laying waste to half the neighbourhood).
I dunno. Giving up for now and going to bed.
Edit: In case it helps, TDP is working fine.

That's what I did with my Thief French version and the newest Tfix.
Actually I have Thief Gold but I want to play with the french Thief too, it has very good french voices.
So, I backed up dark.gam after installing Tfix, applied the Gold Patch and restored again the Tfix gamesys.
I installed a small gold FM(Heart & Soul) with Darkloader and I had no problem at all.
Will try with Between these dark walls.

Hey there,
Just a feedback to say I didn't have any problems with "Between these dark walls". :D

Just get TG from GoG, dude. Save yourself the headaches.

try creating a folder named "patch" in your thief folder, and extract all the crf's from the TG patch there. that should auto-load it (and not mess up TFix, with a bit of luck).

Thanks for all the suggestions - I'll have another go when I have the time (and if it still doesn't work, I guess GOG it is). :)
