The interface art is higher-res as well. That would be fun to get ahold of.

I will grab the System Shock 1 Mac Version from the Strangebedfellows.de Torrent Tracker, the link was posted by Kolya in (
http://www.strangebedfellows.de/index.php/topic,30.msg54.html) this Thread.
I will try to extract textures and cutscenes in the next days.

Are there any screenshots floating around of the mac version then? Mobygames has none.

Well I was trying to get the Shock1 Mac version because of the higher res textures, the music I heard is a bit different (better?), and just for the sake of getting a newer Mac machine to run the great game ever. :)
speaking of its torrent, I tried downloading it the other day but had no luck. If someone does have it, please let me know so I can perhaps publish it on our FTP server.

I'm having major problems getting System Shock to run on my MacBook Pro.
I've managed to install Sheepsaver and OS 9 (which is running fine, to my knowledge), then I installed System Shock from the file that Koyla posted. (I used EX 7z to uncompress it, which I think is okay, so I'm hoping it's not that decompresser.)
Now, I can start System Shock up, but not only is the sound choppy (which I could live with), but the gameplay is incredibly choppy and sluggish. I've tried going into graphic options and decreasing the detail to min, the resolution to low, and even turning on "skip every other line," while also giving Sheepsaver 512 MB of RAM (instead of 128 MB like I had before), but nothing will make the game run smoothly.
What can I do to get this game running smoothly, or at least at an acceptable level?

Hmmm, what version of SheepShaver are you using, and is it a universal binary? Try adjusting the window refresh rate to 60 hz in SheepShaver, that always works for me.

I am using the most current version available on their site, version 2.3, and it is a universal binary. I increased the refresh rate to 60 hz like you recommended, and it did greatly reduce the sluggishness, but the movement is still kinda choppy at times. Interestingly, it did fix some of the choppiness of the sound, though that's still too choppy for me to hear e-mails or background music smoothly. Any other suggestions?
