Puts on his nurse dress and the red signallamp on his head and carries Dr.Wagner on a stretcher out of the thread after his laugh got stuck in his throat.

Just so you know-- you're coming across like a complete dumbass. The Mac version of SS1 is actually technically superior to the PC version. So maybe you should cut your losses and write this thread off.

it runs fine if you reboot and run it under OS9.
If you got the same copy as me, burn the CD under OS X first as 0s9 diskcopy dont like the image for some reason.
The Mac version looks much nicer than the PC version, and alot of the log pictures and other things are of higher quality.

hey bish777 I'm sorry to say that it's not possible.
newer macs can't boot into os9. They only have classic mode.
And there is no way to boot into os9. They have a hardware restriction for OS9
I actually played around with this problem yesterday (getting shock to work) and I'm afraid there's no way. I updated and "down"dated drivers, played around with the extensions nothing works on newer G4 machines and of course the G5s.

I wouldn't give up so easily. I'm not quite sure what filesystems work with Macs, but that really shouldn't matter. I'm sure you can make multiple partitions on your HDD and install OS9 on one of them.
Yeah, I just did a quick google and it's very possible. Then you can use a partition manager to switch between the 2 and then give it a go. You might want to even use an older MacOS on the other partition.
I hope that points you in the right direction.

Now that I think of it, I have a copy of SS1 for PC and might like to try it out on a Mac. I know where to get the PC version (yet I own it so there's no need), but can anyone hook me up with a source for the Mac version?

You don't understand, George. In (
http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2002/sep/10macosx.html) late 2002, Apple stopped making Macs that were physically capable of booting OS 9. There's something in the firmware that prevents it now.
So Classic mode is the ony option for those of us with recently built machines. And unfortunately, Classic apparently won't run SS. :(

I see...thanks for the info Bobz.
That's too bad. I guess the people I saw must have been running older Macs. There's probably a hack firmware to get around it, but I don't know for sure, I'm just guessing like before so I'll just shut up.
Only other option is finding an old Mac which unfortunately won't do much for your vacation.
You know, I love Macs, too bad I don't own one...yet.
Any ideas on getting a copy of SS1 anyone?
