Could that weapon be the Storming Abakan? I've found it on a few occasions in the factory where Borov is.
Still, there aren't that many grenades for its grenade launcher available very early in the game.

Yeah, sounds like the storming abakan. I thought he was referring to the attachable launcher for the 5.56 rifles that you can occasionally find in a stash in wild territory.

Oh god, that freaking Storming Abakan. On my current playthrough I found it in the Agroprom tunnels, even though the quest icon showed it in the back yard of the Dark Valley factory.

Are you patched to 1.0004? That patch solved that issue for me and started putting the correct marker in my PDA (I've also found Friar, the bandit who has the Storming Abakan, several times in the Agroprom underground).

I'm running 1.0005. Also running Zone Reclamation Project on top of that.

Nope, broke it for me too.

I found that storming obokan in the bandit base in Dark Valley iirc.

ugh wtf
ridiculous bug whereby I cannot see a wall of fire that kills me until I walk through it. it's in the underground lab when the first two quadraped miner monsters attack you. realised there's a 1.0005 patch, maybe it'll fix it?
I'm also having tons of sound occlusion troubles. I'm going to update my audigy 2 drivers.

You should be able to see a slight distortion effect where the fire shoots up, but if you're unsure then throw bolts to make sure the path is safe.
