FFS there is nothing "cyber" about this. @Teenagers of today, just because you can play it on an iPod doesn't make it any more cyber than if you played that shit on a walkman circa 1984, or your grandpa's gramophone record player for that matter.
It also almost sounds like one of those reverse-psychology things, like tv shows that have the criminals do stupid things so real criminals get conditioned. "X is so out everybody's doing psyber catch the wave", and now kids go to raves listening to harmless feedback that people in the 60s could hear without the equipment.

Actually, for (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binaural_recording) binaural sounds to 'work' you do need headphones, or I've been told a 5.1 setup works too. Normal speakers don't work. I don't believe in getting high from binaural records, but the first time I've listened to a good binaural recording*, the sound seemed to move around me in such a way that I did get some serious goosebumps. I believe that's also what happened in the video Kolya posted, she just got startled by the weird 3D-like sounds (sometimes it really sounds like the soundscape is coming from behind or above or below you). Nothing to do with getting high.
Also, it's definitely something different than just normal feedback. You need special microphones in a special setup and such to record binaural sounds.
*By good binaural recording I don't mean these weird drone sounds (which I find totally uninteresting), but actual recordings of an orchestra or someone rattling a matchbox, that really seemed to move around, above and below me.

I'll be honest, my first reaction was to hope that this is all true.

Here's something interesting: for a long time, especially when I was younger and using headphones, I couldn't stand it if I was only hearing sound in my right ear. Didn't matter what it was; if that happened, I would get a weird feeling that seemed to creep down my right-hand side all the way to my hip; a weird, tingling feeling. My left ear didn't do this.
Fast-forward to today. I haven't found this happening as much, though occasionally something triggers it, like the video Vivian posted. Whenever the sound panned over to the right, I felt the tingle come back.
Watching the video of that girl makes me wonder if she felt the same thing. When I felt it for the first time, it really creeped me out (of course, I was, what, 10?). Maybe it's a sensitivity like this that causes these supposed euphoric effects (assuming this hasn't all just been a load from the get-go).
Also: I just lost 9 minutes and 55 seconds of my life listening to that crap, and now I think I'm getting a headache to boot. :P

Years ago, when I was out on the streets and needed the credits, I became a cyberdrug dealer myself. I got me some untested equipment on the warez market, and I created this ... this track ... and I sold it to the kids on shockgen. I called it the (
http://sbf.lgclassics.net/VonBraunDeltaInducerV8.mp3) Von Braun Delta Inducer V8 [20.5MB]. It's a 15min binaural drug track. Needs headphones and something to cover your eyes.

I still have that. It's a bit like the sack of weed parents put in a drawer and forget for 20 years until their kid finds it one day.
