Well, the movie is out and (
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/10012256-predators/) RT gives it 64%. I don't know about you, but for me next Tuesday evening is reserved for watching some nice gore and disembowelment by varying ways of shoulder cannons, wrist blades, spear guns and smart discs.

Just came back from watching it, and I gave it a solid "meh." I think I had too high an expectation for what I already knew would be a B movie, although they did a fantastic job on the makeup and the effects.

So it's 3% better than Phantom Menace.
Bring your own popcorn.

Right, if you cover yourself with jungle mud to hide your body heat or whatever, the predator can't see you because it can only see infrared, right?
In that case, how the fuck does it even see trees? I mean, it wouldn't be a vast leap of inference for a creature that invented an FTL drive to see what looks like an arnold shaped rock and think 'maybe that's arnold'.

Maybe they're all a bit crazy, like eccentric old uncles who can tell you the exact pitch and elevation for a 24 pound gun to hit a squirrel three miles away, but are unable to do even a semi-respectable job at parking a car.
I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

Watched it last night. Started out awful, was quite predicatble most of the way through. then ended quite well. Topher Grace is never going to be able to not be whiny Eric Foreman.
Once it got down to the final fight scenes it started getting pretty good. And Adrian Brody did a better job at being a Badass than I thought he would've.
Overall, aside from a few blundering line deliveries that were supposed to be paying homage to the earlier movies that failed miserably. They did a good job of not taking it too far.
I think they did okay for a production studio that is obviously low budget.

Also got swayed into seeing it last night. I wasn't planning on it, but then I saw that Rodriguez wasn't actually directing the thing, so I figured it might just turn out to not be a horrible pile of shit to make me want my money back half an hour in.
I liked it. Not phenomenal in any aspect, plenty of shortcomings, but good enough and it actually worked for me. The fact is that it managed to pull off some exciting scenes despite them being thoroughly predictable, and that it even managed to be surprising in a couple of things ( I mean, come on, Laurence Fishburne pops in mid-time as a demented badass, then gets killed off five minutes later? If you saw that coming props, I totally didn't).

Yeah it was ok.
