There's only ever been one good film about a Predator so far, and that had Arnie in it.
I disagree- while Predator 2 may be a less novel/atmospheric/intense film than Predator, Danny Glover does in fact kill a Predator and become honored by the Predator race. This, in my opinion, makes him superior to Arnie in a loop-hole sort of way. I know it doesn't make the movie better, but this is just an argument I've had many times, and I must insist that Danny Glover is superior.
I seriously geeked out on these movies when I was a teenager so no matter what the movie turns out I'll watch the shit out of this.

Alien isn't getting a reboot (thank god - there is no achievable way to improve on that film bar a few CGI tuneups), it's getting a prequel. One that actually sounds like it might not suck - apparently it's going to be about how the space jockey things use (and made) the alien to be some kind of adaptive horror weapon. Anyways, if anyone's got the guts to go beyond the same old derivative shit the aliens fan scene seems overjoyed to crap out its probably Ridley Scott, who's on credits as producer I think.
Good points. I don't know, though. It's almost definitely not going to have any Sigourney Weaver underwear scenes. :erg:

Considering that she's like a hundred by this point that's a good thing.

That's exactly what makes it so horrible.

Yeah the Predator in Predator 2 is like a mentally subnormal Predator - does really stupid stuff and then gets easily finished off by a dude who's too old for this shit. It's no wonder the chaperones showed up at the end.

So... Predator and Alien are getting a reboot?
No, Predators is a sequel to the original film. IIRC, it's pulling a Superman Returns and ignoring the existence of at least the AvPs, maybe Predator 2 as well.

Ridley is signed onto to direct. Previously he was only producing and some new comer protege of Scottfree was going to direct, but Fox twisted his arm enough. His name was Carl Rinsch.

I do hope it does ignore the presence of Predator 2. What a gloriously hamfisted thing that movie was.

Hey, she didn't look all that bad in Avatar. Oh wait, that was mostly the bits when she was a 10-foot tall blue furry creature. Forget I said anything!
(but she'd seriously make for one hot chakat momma, oh yesss)

Yeah, I've not heard anything to suggest why anything involving a Predator will be any good other than the original movie.
