That they've lost seats to the tories after getting their first bit of hype in a long time in the last few weeks I'd assume - they're going nowhere.
I'd have thought that those two wouldn't be taking much from each other and it would all be how many Labour seats went to each of the other two, but it doesn't look like any theories are panning out at all really.

Fuck, wank, I was voting in the most marginal seat in Scotland, Edinburgh South, and voted LibDem because until we get PR 2/3rds of votes are wasted.
And Labour got in with a majority of 316
edit: The Greens have got an MP, wow.

Good to see the Greens get a seat in Parliament for the first time. Jacquie Smith visibly gulped when her votes were read out, she lost by a lot. The result of the day was probably Lembit Opik being voted out by a massive swing in Montgomeryshire.
Money probably on Cameron forming a Minority Government at the moment, but Brown gets first go at wooing the others. Probably won't happen be successful though.
I'm v surprised that the LibDem vote did so badly - OK they were on a high last time due to the Iraq war and maintained it, but they polled so well before the Election and did so differently in the real vote :wot:

Haaaaaaarrrr!
Yes, yes this result pleases me. As long as labor do not have a majority i'm a very happy man.
Still all to play for!

Or DUP leader Peter Robinson getting turfed out by Alliance's first MP, Naomi Long (who is therefore counted as a LibDem MP as she'll take their whip).

Yeah, the Alliance Party are our sister party in NI, and in the unlikely event that any Alliance MPs were returned at the forthcoming General Election, they would take the Lib Dem whip in the Commons
Not so unlikely now! :D Be nice to her Stronts, you'll need her soon when you enter into a pact with Cameron.

Good call Matthew, I'd forgotten about that since it happened at the beginning of the night (I've been watching it on TV all the way through).
Brown has given authorisation for potential coalition parties to be shown Government Departmental papers to help them decide on the coalition to form. Cue large amounts of swearing from Cable & Osbourne when Sir Gus O'Donnell shows them the true state of the economy :erm:
They're going to have to have some sort of agreement on economic policy by Monday or the Pound will start to slide - apparently some financial institutions have internal rules saying GBP have to be sold in the event of a non-majority result.

FUCK!
That is all.

And so the uber-union talks are in motion: (

Tbh I think this would be best for us. Hopefully these two can work out some suitable balance.
Bye bye Brown. You may have been in power but you were never elected and you now never will be.

A libdem/conservative government could agree on a lot of things.
Sorting out the deficit
Repealing ID cards
Repealing most labour bills from the past 10 years actually...

But it looks like electoral reform through proportional representation is going to be the number one requirement from Clegg and I can't see the Conservatives agreeing to this.
92% of the party would rather form a minority government apparently.
