I'd like to know if any documentation exists regarding the Script Params link, as used in the cauldron of The Haunted Cathedral with the miss11.oms. I'd like to find ways to have a gear start, stop and reverse according to another object (more specifically an elevator). Can anyone help me find a way to achieve this?
Here's what I'm trying to achieve: When I press a button, the elevator rises, and the gear turns clockwise. When I press another button, the elevator descends, and the gear turns counter-clockwise.
I've checked the T1 fm "The Treasury", where this effect is used (albeit with a draw-bridge, and not an elevator): but here the effect is achieved by swapping several different gears (one rotating, another immobile) with teleport traps when a lever is activated. I'm looking for a way to achieve this without using as many objects if possible. I'm assuming the Script Params link (or other default tools or scripts) might be of use here? Can anyone help? Is this effect present in any OM or even FMs I can check out?

You could achieve this effect with some scripts from (
https://dromed.whoopdedo.org/public_scripts/index) Telliamed's public scripts module.
Put the TweqOnOff script on a gear and set up the rotate tweq. Put the TrapDirection script on a marker and ControlDevice link one button to it, ControlDevice link the other button to it through an inverter, and ControlDevice link the marker to the gear. This makes the gear rotate forward when one button is pressed and rotate backwards when the other one is pressed. Put the TrigWaypoint script on each of the TerrPts for the elevator and ControlDevice link them through an inverter to the gear. This makes the gear stop rotating when the elevator stops moving.

I'm doing something similar with a portculis and gears with chains. My setup might be similar to what Vegetables posted but I'll have to check when I get home.

Thank you vegetables, I'll look into it this weekend.

Thanks john9818a, I'd like to know what you've achieved. I've also got a chain system working alongside the lift, the chains move in the opposite direction to the lift. But as far as I can tell, one cannot rotate a gear with Tpaths, so I'm very curious to know.
