Well, I'm all for Willing Suspension of Disbelief (notice I didn't quibble over mining GLASS), but I smell a rat in this. A rat that smells like Mr Didn't Do Much Research. Like Mr Paralyzation Man. ;)
I dunno. Minor thing to be sure, as are most of the things that yank me right out of the game and remind me very forcibly that I am playing something that was built somewhere by people. Which isn't what you shoot for when you design these things.
I can be off in my own little world, having a great time, totally forgetting it's a game (no, not thinking it's real, give me some credit... but you know how you get when you're right into something and the fact that it's a game just kind of bubbles under and you don't think about it anymore) and then BAM I say to myself "Bethesda's QA was asleep on that one" (kathode is probably frowning at me right now, but the truth's the truth, and we're all after a Better Product in the final analysis).
I shouldn't even be remembering the word Bethesda while I play.

You need to work on yours stats though ;) ) Yes.. I was forced to change the brightness and contrast on all of the pics.. I tried to get the pics of my character to the point of brightness without becoming washed out. I suppose that's easier with text because it's all one color. As for dull and fuzzy, that might be attributed to JPEG compression. Katya looks small because I took most of the pictures at an angle. I kindof like that... she's small like a house cat, but she bites like a tiger.
-edit-
Looking at the pics a second time, it occurs to me that Katya might look dull because of the bluish ambient light coming from the icey cave walls.
I'm going to take more shots to test that.

Here is King Horatio Nevermind, His Royal Assmonkeyness* Bo'Shuuda of Ald-Ruhn in his latest adventuring gear:
Inline Image:
http://www.ttlg.com/gbm/horatio_nevermind.jpgBo'Shuuda's pictured wardrobe: Daedric Face of God, Glass Pauldrons, Cuirass of the Savior's Hide, Wraithguard (right), Glass Bracer (left), Expensive Skirt, Glass Greaves, Boots of the Apostle. Bo'Shuuda completes his ensemble with the Keening and a Daedric Tower Shield, and his first successfully enchanted object -- Bo'Shuuda's Brief Stealth (Chameleon 100 for 24 seconds) -- is tucked in his pocket somewhere.
On the floor you can see part of 1/6th of my weapon collection (most of the helmets I thiefed off the Telvanni are out of frame), the crates against the wall are all full (yes you can fill those things to bursting) of ebony, diamonds, rubies, emeralds, and glass. Two of them are Full of soul gems, one for empty, one for charged. All urns, sacks, and chests are packed to bursting with amulets and rings and robes and whatnot. Upstairs is more weapons and armour, plus all my alchemy gear, potions, skooma, etc. And a library rivalling the one in Vivec's Temple canton... now with 7 copies of "N'Gasta! Kvata! Kvakis!" You see why I need a new pad. Plus I have a complete 12-piece guarskin drumset and 8 lutes (at last count). I WANT TO JAM WITH PEOPLE BUT THESE REDORANS HAVE AS MUCH SENSE OF RHYTHM AS A PREGNANT CATHOLIC. >:|
Also pictured are Neddy, Bluebottle, and Eccles. Bloodnok is still upstairs, he got snagged on the railing and I couldn't be arsed to coax him free. Pet Shop mod rawks.
(Once I score a Dwemer helmet, I'll have a full suit of MECHA-NEVERMIND armour)
* Current Assmonkey Titles: House Father of Great House Hlaalu, Arch-Mage of the Mage's Guild, Warder of the Fighters' Guild, Ringleader of the Thieves' Guild, Shadow Government Behind the Cammona Tong, Blind Thrall of the Morag Tong, Heavyweight Champion of Four Ashlander Tribes, Master of the Temple

Katya Ninja Kitty RULES! :D
That pic from the roof-tops is awesome as well.
I think I might have to look at the cost of a video-capture card for my crappy PC before I become poor again so I can screen-cap XBox pics (they aren't that bad :p )

Another question for you Morrowind fanatics: Now that I'm a vampire, nobody in the entire world (except mages, vampires, and human meat) will talk to me, and that suxor. I tried looking for a patch, but most of the link on morrowindfiles.com are broken. Would anyone happen to have any vampire mods?

I am moving this for great justice.
It started life as a sort of "Hey these are my first impressions" but degenerated into something that walks the line between discussion and spoilers.
(plus I beat the snot out of Dagoth Ur today, and then I said Buh at the monitor a lot)

As much as I would like to blame kathode for the 'Ebony' thingamagig (And you know I do), Ebony armour is actually found in Arena... That's why Ebony is some kind of volcanic watzit included in Morrowind.

don't tell you beat the game then called it quits...there's so many one dimensional characters to talk to and same task/different reward quest out there...it's like GTA3: still fun, but just not quite the same as before you beat it.
i was looking forward to this diary thing. you DO have a job, right, and didn't just like totally play the game 24/7, right?
woo, drunken morrowind!
