I decided having entered garys house it was just to tempting to kill him (after saving first), because I knew he was bound to have some great items, amongst them being the key to the bank,
So I gave him the beating of his life, spent a few minutes looting his stuff, and claimed some very useful items from his house we.g swords, sheilds, book of finance (quest item) and even the rare luxury of 2 jewed daggers.
However my ultimate coup was the ring of intuition, you can only get by killing him,
since I can't attempt to pickpocket despite hold down shift nothing happens. It doesn't matter anyway, my stealth score is only about 20, etc but I would still have liked the opportunity to at least have a go.
Anyway I made sure that no-one was within 200 yards of the place before descretely making my exit, and even closing the door where the dead body is. No-one saw me enter, or leave, but whatever I do (i spent 4 hours yesterday trying everything) I am attacked by the gaurds.
This is a little unfair, no-one saw me, anyone could have killed him, and the items I took from him are concealed in my inventroy.
I know I can either pickpocket him(which I can't do) or make a forgery of the key (using the ladder, and lever which lead to his girlfriends house and a mould of grue) but but these 2 options are not the same...
i was very careful it is not realistic that the gaurds would just presume I killed Gary. It could have been anyone.....
Has anyone tried drinking an invisibility potion and then doing this?, as I would have tried this myself yet I don't have one...

Your stealth skill need to be 50 or greater for pickpocketing. I think. Never tried it though.
As for the guards attacking you, yeah that is a bit dodgy, but no game's perfect...

Hint: don't kill Gary at home (or in the bank).
[SPOILER]Attack Gary (just slightly) or pick his pockets (and fail) and he will start whaling on you. Run away. Gary will follow. Run out the door and take a left. Take another left when you get to the "T" in the road. Stop at the end of the dark alley. Gary should be right on your tail. Waste him and take his stuff. Guards won't bother you about it.[/SPOILER]

i have never seen gary leave that bank so i am never able to complete that mission. i bought everything in his chests. ive waited outside of ages but he just never leaves.
