Hey, quick question:
I've just installed Thief Gold again and this time, right in the beginning of Lord Bafford's Manor, Garrett says something like "Hummm... a few too many to try and get by". Question: Where does this come from? I'm certain I've never heard this before (being playing this since TDP back 1999). When you get to the drunken guard at the latrine Garrett says something different which I can't remember right now as well. What am I missing here? Again, never heard this before. They sound a bit like some tutorial messages. Upon searching this online, these lines show up as part of his quotes, how come I've missed them after all these years?

I think they were unused ones, but still part of the game files. Newdark reactivated them

Also, and I may be wrong here, but I believe that TG Garrett sometimes says different lines based on the difficulty level.

I see. I actually considered these. My game is patched and modded and stuff so I thought something might have been unlocked. As for the difficulty, I was on expert so I don't know. I figured that these lines would appear on the easiest, or maybe it's a bug that unlocked the lines on every difficulty.

NewDark didn't reactivate anything in any OMs, it's an update to the engine and doesn't include any mission modifications. Possibly TFix did something as it does include some fixes I believe, but possibly it's that you are playing on Normal and Garrett only says those "hint" voiceovers on Normal.

Just checked. My pure newdark install does not have these lines. I created a test TFix install and the line were there.

In which difficulty did you test? I was playing on expert and I they were there

Just tested the first line in all 3 skills in both regular newdark and TFix. Seems like TFix adds them.
