There's also a place called Shalebridge.
Yeh i noticed that appearing on my map after some quest or another, and headed on over. Did I not explore that area enough, or was it really just... well, nothing? A few super mutants and a small pointless wooden bridge?
Not a bad thing I guess, I love exploring in Fallout 3, pointless bridges and all (It's the first RPG I can remember that has entertained me just from exploration - I hated walking around in Oblivion) but am I alone in hyping myself up for a cool, atmospheric town or underground place and being utterly disappointed when I got there? :laff:
My own fault really :laff:

Could it be possible that the Shalebridge in Fallout 3 is actually not a reference to Thief 3 but rather an actual place in that area? Many people were confused about Chevy Chase, thinking it was some obscure reference to the actor, when it's really a place in DC.
Anyway, if you want spooky places in Fallout 3, check out the Dunwich Building. It's located in the southwestern corner of the map.

When I saw the thread title I thought it might be about playing as Garrett. I find that leather armor, along with a hood, gives just about the right look. Add a Chinese officer's sword, the dart gun, maybe a few mines, and you're all set.

It may be a mod, someday, and all the Quake and assassin-style players would eat it up.

AHA! I'm assuming that that's a HP Lovecraft reference! Dunwich Horror anybody? :O

Eh, I put "Dunwich" in spoiler tags for a reason :p. Oh well.
And yeah, the location is chock full of Lovecraft references.

And again, the Thief games have Lovecraft references, as well.

But of course. Remember the Lost City? There's a cephalopod-headed statue (Garrett's comment: "Creepy..."), and some texts referencing a deity by the name of "N'lahotep". Also, the whole theme of that mission - visiting the ruins of an ancient, enigmatic, forgotten civilisation - is very lovecraftian in itself.
