I fixed the mech-eye overlay problems, bow draw cancelling, & leaning with the bow drawn (not perfect). Installer now detects if John P's textures or if the Minimalist Mod is installed.

BTW, does anyone know anything about Inno Setup? I'm trying to limit install choices: it looks into the TDS directory for Uninstall_JohnP* or Uninstall_Minimalist*, so the installer knows which mods are installed.
Only a little. Try looking at (
www.istool.org) ISTool. It's a frontend to Inno.
Also you may want to take a gander at:
NSIS (Nullsoft Scriptable Install System)
(
http://nsis.sourceforge.net)
This completely free open-source solution emerged from the development of winamp. It has text based script that is not too difficult to learn but it is also not 4 clicks away from instalation. Benefits are that it is extremely fast and lightweight, supports several compression methods, and it is higly customizable.
There's an editor at (
http://hmne.sourceforge.net)

I figured it out with a lot of help, and I wouldn't have gotten very far without ISTool.

I have no coding talent, so I found NSIS to be out of my realm of understanding. I might check out the editor sometime.
EDIT: GarrAT 0.6 is out with John P's Collective Texture Pack compatibility.

I have minimal coding talent. That's why I love those editors and frontends. ;)

Hi Ascottk
GarrAT is still has some bugs...
I have spent the last few hours trying to get it to work with various installations of TDS:
TDS-default,
TDS-w/(GL compat. T3Main.exe - garratloader compat),
TDS-w/JohnP_CTP,
TDS,-w/Minimalist-141,
TDS-w/JohnP_CTP&Minimalist-141)
with no Joy. Here is a list of things I have obseved thus far:-
* Crouch dosent work correctly (pressing crouch once results in a crouch, pressing crouch again does nothing - untill you move then Garrett un-crouches). But sometimes Garret stays in crouch mode regardless of what I do.
* Creep animation continues after releasing keys
* No lean (locks up controls)
* Can't draw bow (locks up controls)
* The fire select works untill I select another weapon (default first weapon is the knife) then it refuses to work at all for any other weapon.
* Or most of the time it installs but its as if I hadnt installed it, ie. the animations remain unchanged, movement is unchanged etc.
I tried 0.4 but had the same issues as above, then 0.6 came out and I thought I'd try it again........Thanks for looking into it. If I find the fix in the meantime I`ll post it in here.
I now have several TDS directories(see above) on my PC so if and when you want to tackle this I am more than happy to test it on every concivable setup of TDS etc.

Just great, TDS have been a major pain to mod. If I have time, which is highly unlikely until the end of June, I'll look into it. Thanks for the feedback.

I tried v0.6 (w/ JP collective pack, no Minimalist, changes to default.ini only) but it was really buggy similar to Biker's:
* Doesn't crouch until you press a movement key
* Creep animation continues after releasing keys
* No lean (locks up controlls)
* Can't draw bow (locks up controlls)
Tried both 1st and 3rd. Maybe the people who are getting it to work have the level editor installed?

You are my hero ascottk :thumb:
Believe or not the botched leaning was my nr. 1 disappointment in TDS, and now you've fixed it. I'm eternally gratefull. I used to have the problem with bow draw cancellation (the arrow would fire even if you tried to calcel it) with an older version of GarrAT, but 0.6 works perfectly. Well, it doesn't allow me to lean with the bow drawn now (or is this because the position of the bow/hand doesn't shift too much with the new leaning?), but that's a small price to pay for otherwise greatly improved leaning.
I've tried GarrAT 0.6 with Minimalist 1.4.1 (though I modified some of the resulting .ini files quite a bit), with John P.'s individual texture packs, and the new collective pack, and GarrAT 0.6 works equally good with all of these.

Sorry for the late post. I wanted to appreciate the work, ascottk. Works great and installs good too. Sad to hear people had trouble before. The clean installs I am trying now with version 0.4 and 0.6 using johnp and minimalist work ok on two computers. Haven't tried the version for the editor yet. Bow leaning is last bug, but not crucial.

Hi Ascottk
I know youve been busy with the Darkmod, may i ask if there has been or will be any further dev work on this...?
many thanks
biker
Well if after the Darkmod if you get an interest for it again, Im sure poeple would be interested in a new version with some of the bugs worked out etc.
