New Garrett animations for Thief: Deadly Shadows
by ascottk
This setup will (backup original files):
Patch the Kernel_GFXALL.ibt located in the CONTENT\T3\Maps directory,
replace T3PlayerAnims.ini in the System directory,
Also, it should find your Thief 3 directory in the registry, if it's there.
New/Modified animations:* Garrett Bow draws (Needed to alter to match new animations)
* Garrett Idle animations
* Walking/Running
* Leaning
Changelog:
Installer-changes since 0.5:* John P.'s Collective Texture Pack Compatibility
Installer-changes since 0.4:* Substituted fidget animations for idles. (3rd person reimplemented). Thanks, jtbalogh!
* Fixed leaning animations for bow draws (still not perfect)
* Fixed the cancelling of a drawn bow (I probably forgot to add note-track info)
* Fixed mechanical eye overlay
* Installer now detects if other mods are installed (John P.'s textures or Minimalist)
(thanks to Gavin Lambert, Nicolas Sherlock, and The Brain)
Installer-changes since 0.3:* The new animations are only first person now.
Due to inconsistancies with the fidgets and new animations (fidget animations are only 3rd person). I didn't alter the fidgets basically because there's a whole lot of them. Without altered fidgets, it looks weird when Garrett transistions from the idle to a fidget animations.
New/Modified animations:* GAR_BA_draw-new
* GAR_BA_hand_loop
* GAR_BA_undraw-new
* GAR_UA_IDL_breathe-new
* GAR_UA_IDL_crouchbreathe-new
* GAR_UA_MOV_crouchlean_LFT_*-new (end, loop, start)
* GAR_UA_MOV_crouchlean_RGT_*-new (end, loop, start)
* GAR_UA_MOV_lean_LFT_*-new (end, loop, start)
* GAR_UA_MOV_lean_RGT_*-new (end, loop, start)
* GAR_UA_NAV_FWD*-new (2, 2_5, 3, 4)
New Horizon offered to include it in Minimalist 1.5, but for those who want a stand alone installer, well . . . here it is :cool:

I don't think it's working for me. His head still moves independent of his body when turning, and he's leaning the same way too. This is on a brand new installation playing the training level.

Well for some reason prior to installing the patch my T3 now refuses to play, this has happened before and like today for no apprent reason. I have noticed similar bugs to aja, like being stuck in a crouch or when starting a level I find garret up int he air :-)

k, I tried the minimalist/johnP install for fun (though I have neither of them), and now when I start TDS the screen flickers for a moment and then freezes. The compass still moves along with me, but it leaves a trail on screen. When I pause and resume, a smaller version of the pause screen stays on screen.
I assume this happened because I tried to install the minimalist/johnP over top of the default install, but the problem doesn't seem to go away if I use your uninstall. Once uninstalled, I try to play the game, but during loading it crashes (I noticed that the 1.1 isn't displayed here either). I'm going to have to reinstall TDS and try again.

Can this be installed if an FM is installed? If not, will it still take effect when playing the FM?

So does this fix the horrible controls in TDS?
DarkElf_Mairead on 9/4/2006 at 12:33

Aja, I'm having a hard time trying to comprehend why you would do this? :laff:
You have neither Minimalist or John. P installed, but yet you chose to apply the patch for those .ibt files? I'm pretty sure ascottk is using a binary patching system. If that is the case, then he has created a small file for each of the configurations. The binary info is going to be shifted around in each different configuration, making each patch different. If the binary patch for a minimalist/ john p install is applied to a default install, well...I would say good luck. ;) Judging by what you said, you realize that choosing that option wouldn't actually give you John/ Minimalist options.
