Seriously though, that Home Improvement post by Pip is good stuff. Then again what originally drew me to RPS was a post about earth digger simulators. I love a gaming site that focuses as much on obscure niches as mainstream titles, and I love the often-irreverent tone of the writing. Even the Christmas Crackers were deliciously goodbad. For people who do not enjoy it I would point out that other gaming sites exist. Or, I don't know, stick around and keep whining about how the stuff you are not paying for, and do not have to pay for, is terrible and you don't want to read it anyway. Whatever floats you boat, buddy.

Get off your high horse with your non-arguments. Just because the asking price is 0, doesn't mean that it's above critique nor that I can't be disappointed by it. I held RPS to a higher standard than tabloid drivel like Kotaku. They still give us some fantastic content like Jeremy Laird's tech column; the Premature Evaluation column where impressions/play diaries of Early Access games are provided; the "ride-along" series that details the social ecosystems and cultures of various MMOs communities; etc. Oh and I do ignore stuff that I don't like, eg that increasingly awful "sex in games" column by Cara Ellison eventually went onto my "yeah nah" list.

Hey, here's a wild idea: perhaps his argument is that there are people who like the things you don't! That notion seems to be pretty basic and not all that high horsey. Crazy, huh?

EvaUnit02, calling what you're doing "critique" is being very generous. You are not critiquing the thing, you simply don't like the thing. There's nothing wrong with Cara's articles on sex in games, in fact they explore the subject very well. It's simply a subject you are not interested in. And if the fact that the things RPS cover do not 100% align with your own personal interests causes you such anguish, then go ahead, cry your little heart out, buddy. We're here for you.
