Yeah, but the negatives mentioned in the review would've been enough to drive a lesser game down into the 3 stars area. Bad AI, framerate issues, short length...definatley not qualities that make a 4 star game.
I've been sitting on the fence for awhile now but I'm beginning to believe that I'll probably end up thinking of it as a good game with lots of lost potential. The positive aspects of the game are definately shining points, but the flaws are substantial enough to keep it from being the truly great game that ISA is capable of making. You could say that they're a very experimental company...and the big experiment that is DX2 ended up being a noble failure from the looks of it.
They tried cramming a complex game onto 2 drastically different platforms by using a one size fits all philosophy and from there decided to trim the fat off of what they considered to be the core DX gameplay...thing is, they trimmed off some of the meat along with the fat and their end result was a smaller steak. Enjoyable, but not as filling as the whole thing would've been fat and all.
Yeah, people will still have fun with it and the game will still get more than a few good reviews (which'll make Fat Thief's panties ride even deeper up his crack), but even without having played the actual game, I'm pretty sure I won't have as much fun with it as I did the original Deus Ex.

I'm getting rather sick and tired of this console port bitching. Wake up and smell the coffee: consoles and online-gaming are big today and according to many experts, will truly blow out of proportions next year. If you want money to develop further games, you have to jump in and take as much as you can of the cashflow. Problems can be fixed with patches so I can't really understand what all the wailing is about. No, I wasn't overtly enthusiastic about the demo either but I'm beginning to see the possibilities= giving the game a fair chance. And no, personally I don't give a hoot about consoles or MP.

I can't play the demo, because my computer wouldn't run it.
But after browsing this forum and others, I just decided not to read anything related to DX2 anymore until I play it. Too much is being said about to small a sample, and overreactions do not help having a clear understanding of the situation.

Meanwhile I'm gonna play some Shock and DX :)
