I think what ISA is trying to do is make the game length pretty much up to the player. They've said around 20 hours, if you just do the main plot. They've also said that if you do the side quests and so forth you could go up to approx 65 hours, I believe.
And there are parts of Deus Ex where it did take you a boring minute or so to transverse levels. I know I got pretty sick of parts of New York ... I didnt say they did...i expressed aproval for physicaly large enviorments.
hmm...'a boring minute' holy crap you have a sort attention span :laff: :erg:

Fact is, with the computer, people are on the short-span, fast action. I also hate big levels when you have to walk from one end to the other. It's boring. It's dull. It's no fun. And therefor, it's not what I want in a game.

I couldn't play that game at first, because my first reaction when hiding would always be "Crap! They're gonna see the lights on my NV goggles!".
I personally think the first Deus Ex was way drawn out. I enjoyed the game for about 50%-60% of the experience. After that it felt more like a chore, and I found myself wondering "When is this game going to END?". I actually took a 4 month haitus from the thing because I couldn't bring myself to keep on playing it. Games CAN be too long. (
