October, eh? Bugger that, I was hoping for summer release:mad: loks nice, though, graphicwiese, but I've to say that I don't like the look of the inventory HUDs that much. They seem to take awful lot of screen space and are too hi-tech candy. Old ones at least let you concentrate on what you were doing. But we'll see about that later. Alex certainly looks more like some smart-ass punk kid, rather than some badass agent:erg:
Hmm. Now, I'm just waiting for October and also someone to point to a direction, where to get those movies (other than from gamespot) and the one in last months PCGamer;)

Lookin' good! At least his attire is a little more practical (and thus realistic) than a big bloody cloak and sunglasses :p. Nice to see some gun holsters as well - d'you reckon all inventory items will be visible on the player model? That'd be nice, for once...

The three E3 levels represent just a small portion of the game, which is broken up into 36 levels. Ion Storm has said that Invisible War won't be as long as the rather drawn-out first game, but while the new levels won't be quite as large, they're said to be much more densely populated with mission challenges and characters to interact with
This is good - 36 levels dispels some of my fears that DX2 was going to be a really short game, done in 15 hours like RtCW, simply for the sake of not letting the concentration of younger gamers drift. And the more characters to interact with the better, adds to the roleplay element.

Since the levels will be smaller, you won't be required to hike from one side of town to the other, which should keep the game's pacing somewhat more constant.
This is not so good - I loved the long levels, and the chances for exploration that the size gave you - all the really good juicy secrets were hidden away in far off corners of the map, and it gave you a sense of being in a real place, with the ability to go into areas that weren't part of the storyline, but added to the flavour of a living breathing world. Ah well, its just a minor grumble, this game is still gonna be cool.

3d vid card mania & eye candy in exchange for something w/breadth & depth? Christ, I hope not but that's sure what it sounds like the world of gaming has come to, doesn't it?
Gaming houses! Get a clue: I'll take a yr w/my plain jane g/f over 15 minutes w/a Las Vegas showgirl anyday.

Personally, I like the new hud look - seems more natural to have it circular (and customizeable in terms of its transparency as it was in DX the original game). But does anyone know where one can view the movies other than through gamespot?

Those new screenshots are very pretty. But I have to wonder whether you can choose from several different sorts of interface.
The new interface looks very cool, but I can see it being annoying. The older shots showed a more tarditional configuration.

Dude - I gotta know...was that typo intended in light of the discussion? (calling the configuration a "tard" - not you) ;)

The new "retina" HUD interface looks really cool, but I really want to see it in a movie (or, better yet, a demo...) to see how it actually works. A HUD like that could be great, or awful. What is really needed to make something like that work is fluid, intuitive interface. That's a little nebulous, I know, but it's kind of hard to describe what I mean. I hope they get it right.
As for the screen shots, the architecture and character models look excellent. The only thing that seems to need work are the weapon models, which look kind of plain and un-detailed. Hopefully IS will touch them up before release.
And I was a little dissappointed about hearing an October release, I was also hoping for sometime this summer. Still, if they can use the time to improve the game even more, it should be worth the wait....
