Not much to see there, though. Some nice lighting, but it's just a guy running around... with a gamepad. ;)
Shaky cam, too, so there's not much to see of the graphics.

OH MY GOD!
There is something to say about the graphics, they look impressing.
Those shadows where absolutely brilliant and did you see that part where "the player" was pushing that barrel.
IIIIIIIIIIIIII AAAAAAMMMM SOOOO HAAAPPYYY!!!!!!!
I have to buy a new computer to play that game.. Anyone knows when it is coming?
Kaleid on 30/5/2002 at 12:28
I'm certainly impressed as well.
Will be released sometime in 2003...

You beat me again Kaleid! :)
Ummm ... well, I am quite impressed with the actual game, it looks good, but the movie itself is terribly bad quality and doesn't show to much either. And, of course, I can't listen to the sound because this is a public ocmputer lab. Oh well.
Still, a bit more DX2 shit for me. Can't be bad. :thumb:

The darkness of the game worries me, although I know it is needed to produce the desired shadowy effects. By the way I don't know why whoever did the video added cheap shock value footages of the Tiananmen Square incident as well as a short clip of the World Trade Centre.

- Does anyone else think that handgun model looks, well,
weird? It's shaped oddly, not sleek or smooth or utilitarian like the guns in DX1 were. You can see a good example in the man's hand in the "Loading" artwork (the woman's looks the same, but with silencer and laser sight attached. I hope this means weapon mods are visible to the player in-game). Also, it doesn't have any iron sights on the top, like normal handguns.
- I love the lighting and physics effects, they bring up a lot of interesting possibilities. They make it look so real, when the player knocked over the flaming barrel, I was expecting a cloud of ash to fly up!
- What was with those icons popping up in the middle of the screen whenever the circle went over a bot or a person? They looked like health bars, but they seemed a little intrusive in the player's view.
- The five white little squares in the top-left corner, underneath the health silhouette. What are those, a fatigue meter? They go down when the player is running, then rise back up later, but they seem a little erratic.
- Are the eight icons in the upper right augmentations? Or are they representing the "bio-mods" that are replacing skills?
EDIT: Do (
http://www.deusex2.com/DX2/Screens/Xbox/05242002/fullsize/xboxshot03.jpg) these guys always wear a full uniform and face mask while hanging around their base?

Oh wow, it's visibility meter!! YAY!
I've always wondered if those boxes represented BE or visibility.
Deiyen on 31/5/2002 at 01:45
OMG! Visibility meter! Awesome! I didn't even notice it the first time I watched. But yea, it really looks like some kind of visibility meter.

Wow, those graphics are amazing. Especially the shadows. The physics look great too (even better then those in "Hitman").
One thing though: What's up with the targeting recticle? I sure hope that's a console-only thing. It looks far too Quake-ish, and doesn't seem to have any sort of progressive accuracy aiming thingy like DX1 did. I also hope that the PC version has a HUD layout that more resembles the first game...this one also looks too console for my tastes.
I didn't realize they had that much done already...wow. Now, where's the Thief 3 video?
