I have 3 hard drives in my PC. One is C: drive that just has my applications; the second is my gaming hard drive where I have all my games installed; and the third is just my backup hdd. The gaming HDD broke, it makes a clunking sound and its no longer hooked up to my PC.
I have reinstalled most of my other games onto the C: drive for now, but I can't reinstall Morrowind. Actually, in the Add/Remove programs it still sees morrowind installed but it won't remove it from the list. When I run Morrowind setup, it still thinks I have the game installed and won't let me chose a different directory to install it to, it always keeps going to where it used to be installed but there is not D: drive, where the game used to be. Theres obviously some registry item that makes the setup program think morrorind is still installed as well as for the Add/Remove program. How do I fix this so that I can get back to playing Morrowind.

This may screw your computer up, so apply with caution...
Now, go to Start->Run and type Regedit and press enter. Do a search for Morrowind (Try for the exact phrase shown in the Add/Remove programs screen) and delete the 'folder' any instances reside in.
Or you could download a registry checking program and give that a go.

I found the registry entry and deleted it. It didn't screw everything up but I was able to reinstall the game. :cheeky:
