Yeah I've just subscribed again for the sweet price of a buck, being an X-Bone user too I think it's brilliant VFM! I agree it's a pain in the arse sifting through the Win 10 MS app to find Win 10 Compatible game's (I like to mix and match).

I was hoping the euro I plunked down last month would mean I'm gonna get all the new games but nope! It seems if you bought it a month ago you're in some kinda weird limbo-account where you get some new stuff but like far from all of it. AFAIK the new additions are Guacamelee 2, Moonlighter, and 4-5 other games I don't even care enough about to list.
To get the new GOOD STUFF, like Metro Exodus, Wolfenstein 2, Void Bastards, Astroneer, and The Messenger, they expect me to shell out an ADDITIONAL EURO. What is this MS, do I look like I'm made out of euros???
I'll probably get it. Gonna wait a few days and see if anything else pops up on my current account tho.

MS coming for both Epic and Google Stadia's scalps.
Game Pass PC = $5 USD a month for access to a whole library which you both download and play locally + stream.
Stadia = $10 USD where you have to sub + still buy games which you can stream only.
Epic bribed to keep Metro Exodus and The Outer Worlds off Steam. MS offering Metro in Game Pass right now and Outer Worlds on day 1.

And MS likely paid (and promised) the publishers just as much as Epic did.

Game subscription services
No.
My time for games is more limited than ever, I prefer buying stuff when I actually need it. Although I'm pretty sure most of these publishers would love a client like me - pays all the year long while rarely ever plays anything.

Yeah if you finish less then 1 game per month it's probably not gonna be worth it, but for HARDCORE GAMERS this is great value for money. Especially if you only dip in every six months or so, once a slew of attractive new titles have piled up.

So what? It's an option which is shit loads better than Epic's barebones trash. You can rent the game cheaply as a stop gap until better options are available.

Ok I went ahead and got the new subscription and it UPGRADED my previous subsciption. So now I have the new and improved XBox Game pass till mid-September, FOR JUST TWO BUCKS! :thumb:
Already got started on Void Bastards. Next up, Metro Exodus!

Right, for those of you who haven't tried out Xbox Game Pass Ultimate yet, now is the absolute best time to do it.
Gamers discovered that if they had remaining months of Xbox Live Gold when they bought the £1/$1 trial for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, those remaining months would get converted to Gamepass Ultimate months, and instead of slapping the exploit down, Microsoft have embraced it.
So, you buy a 1-36 month Xbox Live Gold code either from Microsoft, or more sensibly a keyseller, where the prices are reduced dramatically.
You apply said code to your Microsoft account over at (
https://redeem.microsoft.com/)
That gets you your basic 1-36 months of Xbox Live Gold.
If you then apply the £1/$1 Xbox Game Pass Ultimate promotion, it converts those Live Gold months in to Game Pass Ultimate months!
Unfortunately, if you've already tried out the Ultimate promotion, it's not quite as generous doing it the other way around, and a 12 month Xbox Live Gold pass added to a £1/$1 Ultimate account only gets you 4 months.
Here's more officially sanctioned detail:

My recent Game Pass gaming:
Wolfenstein 2 - Finished it, tho I really had to drag myself through the finale. Like I've said elsewhere, the writing isn't really good, but it is really going all out so it's quite entertaining.
The Messenger - Played quite a bit, but couldn't make it past the boss at the top of the mountain and gave up. The game is quite charming, until it opens it's mouth. The writing is such cringe-inducing meta-bullshit. It constantly pulls the Deadpool trick of just pointing out that a trope exists as if that would be funny on it's own.
Timespinner - Played a bit of this Metroidvania but I'm not digging the feel of it at all. The main issue is that the attack freezes you in place while the animation plays out, so it just feels very sticky and cumbersome. Especially compared to the super-slick Gato Roboto I just finished, this does not feel good at all.
Up next I think I'll check out Night Call. They've also recently added Unavowed and Middle Earth: Shadow of War. Tho I kinda wanna play the latter on PS4.
