The game keeps getting stuck for a few seconds during cutscenes when I talk to somebody or sometimes just while I'm moving around.
I have all the system requirment and I'm not even playing whith very high settings. Is this usual? Can I fix it somehow?
My system:
Intel P4 1800
GeForce4 Ti 4600
512 MB DDR RAM
That's the important stuff.
Any help would be great!:)

you've obviously patched the game...so that's out of the way.
Maybe close out all running programs before starting?
Update video drivers, what OS do you have etc.
I have an 1800+, 512MB Ram and a Ti 4400 running the 45.23 drivers, the game runs very well for me. So yes, you should not be having any serious problems.

I'm using Win XP. I haven't updated my graphics card driver though. I'll try that, hope it works because I can't play at all at the current state.:(

I downloaded the newest driver (Forceware) and still the game keeps getting stuck for 5 or 6 seconds at a time.
It seems mostly that it gets stuck when someone's talking, but that's not a very accurate observation as the speakers at the facility are constantly babbling.
I've also noticed that when I start playing everytime, it starts out smooth and then gradually starts getting stuck more and more often until finally I'm stuck more often than not and I have to quit. (might be mistaken)
Can anybody see any solution to this?

a gradual decline in speed can sometimes be a memory leak. when a program closes, or halts certain functions it creates, it should free up all the memory it was using. sometimes it doesnt work properly, and memory will slowly get eaten up and made unusable until nothing will run and you have to restart.
close any programs that you dont need running - virus scanners and shields, anything in the system tray or in the task manager application tab.
deus ex itself may be causing a memory leak - have you tried reinstalling it?
i dont really know much about memory, so do a search on memory leaks and see what you can find.
is the cd/dvd drive or hard drive doing anything during these pauses? does the sound stop, skip or keep going?

I'm thinking sound drivers ...

The sound in the last few seconds keep on repeating themselves 5 or 6 times until it gets "unstuck".
Haven't tried updating my sound driver though...I'll have to try that. BTW Catman, are you the same Catman from Eidos and Tcom?

Eidos, TCom, Ion Storm, and a few places where you have to know the secret handshake to get in.:ebil:

Heard of you mostly from my brother. He's the one who hangs out at those places. Do you know who he is? As a hint: He has a very stupid and meaningless name that starts with T.;)
