Pretty much all of the comments in the summary could have been made about TDS, except the bit about reducing magic and decorating your house.
Also, what does this mean?

That said there are plans to include an online component.

Some researchers studying such behavior have come to the conclusion that throwing feces is actually a sign of high ordered behavior. Who would've thought? :wot:

I only hope they not decide to do what they did with TombRaider.
Did you try the new Lara Croft game ?
omg it's pure *%@&$ !!!
bang bang kill kill kill... jump jump ... bang bang kill kill.. -_-
You mean like what Tomb Raider has always been? Have you even played the originals?

I seem to remember that combat was occasional and when it happened it was a trivial / barely interactive thing.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd be surprised many people remember TR3 for the fire-fights.

i mean that Tomb Raider is not tomb raider anymore..
I played until tomb raider Chronicles .. and they were all about explorations and full of atmosphear (atmosphere:) and phatos now it's only a matter of kills and acrobatic stages.
Probably they went tired of the same kind of game for every new release and so they decided to copy/paste
uncharted (but to be honest i don't know it exactly because i never played uncharted)
They said : ''it's a prequel, it's a prequel..'' but it's all a @/%*^!t to hide the true..
to change/reboot an original franchise is one of the most absurd mistakes that a software house can do in its history..
If it was Original until now and it was always a success... why in the f@/%*^! hell you should change it to copy something else ? O_o
this is total madness

While sparse on details, I am encouraged by the number of times they referenced a desire to keep core fans happy. The question about customizing the hideout made me cringe. Unless it was asked in a reverse-psychology manner - 'you ARENT going to do this, right?', - I think it was a ridiculous thing to ask/hope for. With that said, the answer given, in no uncertain terms, that this is not Skyrim, was nice. Its not to say they wont fail, but I get the impression that they do take what we say to heart. Again, that isnt to say that they wont mess it all up, but at least they are paying some attention. Before someone jumps in to tell me that the same things could be said about the T3 team, the one difference here is that the T3 team did not have a bad/mediocre Thief game to look at. These guys do, and presumably can see what kind of changes lead to failure.

Well that podcast certainly alleviated many of my concerns.
The developers constant references to the fan base made me feel all the more embarrassed about jumping on the outrage bandwagon earlier on. Hope they didn't read a lot of it and feel unfairly treated; it can't feel good to have something you've put hundreds of hours into dismissed even before it hits the market.
I don't remember anything about swimming not being included, I hope it is in the game (even if the concept of soaked-to-the-bone stealth stretches credibility). All the same their mention of the 'stratification' of the ancient City has set my explorer senses aquiver; from rooftop to forgotten cellar the gameplay options are stellar
Overall though I stand by my stated reservations about the changes made to Garrett's character. I realise that Garrett was due some new development for 'Character-Stasis' avoidance but the protagonist as vicariously motivated, trophy taking voyeur struck me as too much like a recognisable character archetype the moment I heard it. All I'll say is that I'll see how it works in practice.
DLC missions for the win (especially if they use them to fulfil fan needs for Undead, Chaos-Beasts etc.). I know that many in the community were hoping for some sort of editor but in all honesty I wasn't expecting one. Times have changed and developers would be missing out if they didn't keep producing extra content that the Fans will pay for.
I will buy this game when it comes out...you've done your job Eidos Montreal

As game developers working on a new entry in a well beloved series, I'm sure they're used to everything from derision to death threats against themselves and their loved ones. A little bit of outrage won't phase them in the least.
