Not at all... I said I think you could be right.
I was thinking along the same lines myself, so I merely agree with your own speculation. :)

Come on, your paymasters have you on instruction to agree with us when we deduce something correctly.

So far, there are bold promises that "cater" to fans of the original games, including exploration and ghosting. But without 1st person only, swimming, and rope arrows, many of these ideals may fall by the wayside.

Yeah, it's not enough to include things in the recipe, even in major part, that we want, when the other stuff can skew it into unacceptable or disappointing territory. With all the diversity of fan opinion, I want to know which leaning they've taken things, not whether something has a presence in the game. I completely expect the game to have a great deal of things without having to ask about them, and I'm more interested in the shorter list of surprising choices, good or bad or how much. If they keep saying they are faithful and respectful, then I expect them not to boldly contradict it this early on, so again, not much was a surprise overall. I like a lot of what I'm hearing, but it's still vague enough to easily project personal wishes on, including excessive joy.
With all the fans who won't miss this and that, never liked this and that, checking off 90% of the experience as unimportant, it's not unreasonable to be concerned that the Thief fans at EM wouldn't have a similar Bell Curve of things they don't care for or think is important. The more they can say they've included, the more relaxed and happy I'll be. Any hemming and hawing and double-speak is never a good sign. Ever. So I hope to be happily surprised for once. I also have zero tolerance for people telling em how I will feel, people expecting me to buy the product before knowing enough of certain things.

Yeah, I know. The funny thing about this for me is that the Thief formula is possibly one of the simplest ever in the history of the industry! How can you possibly get it wrong?! Ego, thats how. :p
