Game difficulty isn't balanced? Lack of Healing Stations. - by Wenex

I have just downloded the SSP to play SS1 and it's really awesome game. I didn't expected to have so much fun with a game which is 21 years old! Holy hell.
Though there's one problem which I find really annoying. I have set enemies to normal, plot to normal and puzzles to max. I have just completed second level called Research Labs I believe and I'm kind of stuck. There's been no healing station through entire second level so the medkits gone scarce. The first few enemies in level 3 Maintance are just kicking my ass, while I do literally nothing to them with all of my weapons. I just patienlty load the save and repeat my death over and over basically. It's not like I got worse in the game, but it feels like enemies got superb buff and it makes me feel pretty weak. I'm not even using medkits to get to 100% health as I know I will get three shotted anyway.
Isn't "normal" supposed to be actually normal? I have gone through first two levels exploring literally everything as the game is awesome. I don't think I will be able to repeat all of that just to change the monster diff from normal to easy. sigh.
Also apologies for my english. It isn't my native.

The maintenance level can be very difficult for an unexperienced player. The inviso-mutants are very tough enemies. So you'd better sprint across the level and take the elevator straight to the Executive level. Then you can work your way down, and deal with the maintenance level when you're better armed.

But anyway, you're supposed to go from Research down to the Reactor, and only after completing the laser mission should you proceed to Maintenance. What are you doing in Maintenance now?

I cleared lvl2 Research Labs fully, so I took the elevator to the lvl3. Wasn't I supposed to do that? I mean... there's no e-mails nor notes from this girl which was on beginning. There's literally no clue nor hint what I am supposed to do, so I'm improvising.
The only thing I managed to do in Research Labs was helping SHODAN by accident (lol) and getting this isotope thingy - which actually has been mentioned by her. Other than that, there's no more hints.
Is there even a Healing Station in Maintance or Reactor level? I could really use one.

You're supposed to go to the Reactor level. Surely you must have found logs that tell you what to do. Particularly, the logs from Nathan D'Arcy - you find one in the Medical level, and two inside his office in Research.

I have indeed found them. Well, maybe I just didin't focus on the text good enough and ignored it. Though there's still the problem with the healing stations. Is there any of these on reactor or maintance levels?

There is one on the Reactor level. And also a restoration bay, so once you enable it, if you die you'll be revived.

How about healing stations in the rest of the levels? lvl 4,5,6,7,8 and 9? I see you are well known in the game, so no reason to not ask I guess.
Thanks for your help btw.

There aren't that many surgery beds left in Citadel Station. Besides Medical and the Reactor levels, you'll only find another one in Engineering (level 7). So it's better not to rely on them too much. You'll find restoration bays in all levels up to Engineering. Anyway, first aid kits and medi patches are plentiful, so you just need to be a bit more careful and not charge against your enemies like you normally do in a FPS game. And search the bodies of every enemy you kill. Mutants and cyborgs are a good source of patches.
