there is sometin wrong with these codecs it says they are corrupt!
and im not sure this will solve the problem at all...
what does really cause the game to crash after the movie?

I thought it was something to do with the codec, but I can see now that it isnt. have you done a search in the forum as Im sure ive read about someone else having this same problem.

ill be damned but i installed another mission on darkloader and it works now perfectly like a charm! perhaps I also needed to reset the missions everything is so super!
i guess sometimes u get ridicolous solutions for the apparently irrisolvable probs!

I hope this isn't going to become the norm:
in what way...?

Sorry, just saw your post and decided to answer the question.

...the
pay version of the LIGOS Indeo Codecs. That worked. Yay for me, Thief runs again... though it did
cost $14.95. That
may be the only way to get movies working again with Vista. None of the free versions of the codecs worked. For those who need the link, it's here:

So, I hope paying for the codecs to keep the Thief movies working isn't the way of the future for most taffers. It's hard enough to find an affordable copy of the complete
Thief Gold, and to have to spend another $15.00 to just play the movies doesn't sound like it would be too compelling for a new taffer, and some veteran taffers, either.
However, it is another option for the passionate fans who would only have hacks and tweaks and batch-conversion as the only other options, and we want to avoid that.
