Do you have a blog
Do you plan to complete this sentence later?
Koki on 9/7/2010 at 05:24
I left some space there just in case I need it later.

Well beyond all of that koki's post undercuts the impact of the first for anyone who hasn't seen them yet, which is lame, but that's our koki!
Well it seemed like some people were too thick to understand dark humour so I just gave them an easier example.

No, you were trying to shit up the thread, as you successfully seem to do every time you post. This may come as a shock, but most people here are smarter than you. Congratulations, you are the resident douchebag.

You know I love good old Koki pile-on as much as the next guy, but let's save it for occasions in which he's actually in the wrong. Posting a horrible cartoon from the series of horrible cartoons that Starrfall linked to in the initial post is hardly out of line.
Plus: he killed it with the blog snipe.
Though criticizing the art in Kolya's link was some fucked up shit
Edit edit: And I'd totally read a blog by Pardoner

I think he was actually showing surprise that Kolya was calling the art 'acceptable' instead of great.

And I thought he actually wanted to read a blog by Pardoner, because he wrote it right after a Pardoner post that summed up Clarissa in a short, precise and smart way.
That Stormtrooper comic wasn't funny, just long winded and predictable.
Anyway, here's a comic that ZylonBane recommended before and I started reading it and it bears repeated recommendation: (
http://www.girlgeniusonline.com) Girl Genius. The art in this one is a lot better.

No, it was a variation on "Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter" AKA sarcastic response to his pseudointellectual take on Clarissa. "Post-Calving and Hobbles", jesus christ.
Though it's not surprising that you considered his post spot-on; if you think art in Genius Girl is better than art in The Meek your grasp on reality is obviously quite... warped.

All of a sudden, Koki has started to make a whole lot of sense.

There was a whole parade of comics emulating Calvin and Hobbes after it finished, most of them shit. Most featured some variation on either "child wanders around with talking pet in tow" or "child doesn't quite behave like a child" without ever acknowledging why these devices had been used to begin with.
So, they were shit because they were unintelligent and gimmicky. These strips weren't interested in a refutation of precociousness in children, and the reasons adults find to justify their own patronizing behaviors. And they weren't interested in characterizing imagination or creativity. All of them become generic, either because the authors confused shock value with dark humor (look what 'innocent' children can say!), or they desperately wanted to portray something so uncontroversial (this boy has a dog!) that they are deliberately insipid.
