Graphic Novel: (
http://www.meekcomic.com/2008/12/27/chapter-1-cover/) The Meek
Full color, acceptably drawn, can't say much about the story yet, as I've only read the first chapter so far. (Mysterious moldy-haired girl runs around naked in the jungle, looking for her even more mysterious grandfather.)

Meek "acceptably drawn"? And people say I have ludicrous standards.

Further, and what's
worse, this kind of seems to be the point. Misery as art as commentary as comic. Wheee.
Misery as art is an old concept (maybe not the comics part). The art in is well done - some of the facial expressions are absolutely fantastic and he manages to play out the story in a way that sets it apart from the other "girl acts dark and moody" type things. As Stitch points out though, the others have the same punchline and for me it sends them into Darker and Edgier territory that I find tiresome, although I hear the 4channers love them.
Seriously though that was only meant to be a hook and I'm sorry it's distracting from Weapon Brown, which is quite good and worth a try for anyone who likes comics.

Are we allowed to talk about printed comic books, or just webcomics?
You aren't allowed to talk at all
edit: no wait, you're only allowed to talk about (

Subsequent Clarissa strips aren't as interesting as the first. If koki needs to re-up his edgy by posting them and you want to snark along that's fine, I was just wondering.
With all due respect, you can't exactly post a link to a comic that hinges on child rape and get defensive when it dominates discussion. I understand this thread may have derailed from your original intended purpose, but you can't offload that blame on us.
Plus: the Clarissa comics are loaded and baffling enough that they merit discussion.
Edit: written before you clarified just now a bit more what you were going for

Well beyond all of that koki's post undercuts the impact of the first for anyone who hasn't seen them yet, which is lame, but that's our koki!

Maybe one's initial introduction to Clarissa is the most,
erm, effective, but "Stuffed Animal" (I think it's called) was mine and for the most part I think it's the best of the lot, if a word like "best" even applies. It doesn't go for laughs, and has the mercy of being fairly succinct. A simple, fairly straightforward sucker punch to the soul.
But even then, I have to wonder what Youngbluth is going for, as a brutally dark tale of child molestation is ill served by the funny-book visuals, and Clarissa's constant sourpuss expression undercuts any real impact. The other Clarissa comics I've seen drop any connection to real world horror and instead aim for an edgy blend of ultra-black humor and misguided Rockwellian Americana inversion, but the comics miss every target and instead collapse into a queasy shitpile of what-the-fuck.
The weird thing is it typically takes a good ten hours to lay out, pencil, ink, and letter any single page of comics. Youngbluth has spent
a lot of time bringing these horrible comics to life.
Perhaps Weapon Brown is better, but I'm not all that interested in finding out.

Weapon Brown is fucking AWESOME and I can't put it down. I just watched Snoopy tear the fuck out of Marmaduke and Dagwood (and Herb, to a degree) while Chuck is being tortured at the hands of Little Orphan Annie, Popeye, and the kids from Boondocks -- all the while the Wizard of Id's crazy DNA-hunting ghost is closing in! ps they are torturing Charlie Brown by playing Dethtongue at insane volumes.
And to think this all started with Miss Buxley's tits!
The cameos are so much of the awesome!
