Henke, you are a man and you know nothing of how often rape and sexual abuse does happen to women. This kind of indifferent attitude only helps ensure that rape and hostility towards its victims will continue to to happen.
So I suppose it's a mad delusion that one in three women is a rape victim? That every two minutes a woman is raped. Virtually no woman feels safe walking down a city street at night. Gosh, I suppose we're all just delusional. I suggest you seriously do some research on the subject of rape and abuse, Henke. Don't even try to pretend that you know what you're talking about.
Kook, that is true, but the other stuff I was talking about was also true.

Actually, according to the (
http://www.rainn.org/statistics/index.html) first google hit, one in
six women are
sexually assaulted, not raped.
And for the record, there are no instances of sexual assault in Grindhouse.

Yeah, they all wanted it. Am I right?

Sexual assault and rape are still attacks made primarily upon women because they are women. Assault and rape is a powerful way to dehumanize and there may not be rape in Grindhouse, but from what I can see in the trailer, there's a helluva lot of objectification of women, which is of course, also dehumanization and it's still in the same family as rape and sexual assault. Bear in mind, too, that for all the cases of rape and sexual assault, there are hundreds of others that don't get into the statistics because so very very many go unreported.

thank you. :)
It was several pages back that I started thinking "this is so pathetic" so it is that I leave the thread now and end my futile crusade. However, this thread has been very enlightening for me. For all your claims that people can enjoy violence and still be perfectly sympathetic decent folks, the way many of you have responded to me in defense of your gorefest mongering has been incredibly revealing of your own hateful indifferent nature. Irony is fun.
Anyway, I'm tired of beating this dead horse with a stick, since there's no hope for any of you, so I'll be off. Feel free to post any mysoginistic comments and "haha I told you so's" all you want. I won't be around to see them.
Sorry to interrupt your regularly scheduled programming. You can all go back to your titties and gore now. :)

How did I miss this thread for the last couple of days, it is brilliant! :D
Lady Taffer, you're representing your views in a similar way to Tarantino's method of showing violence - massively over the top.
ps Totally seeing this film now, no capitalised DON'Ts will stop me!
