More like Futur
eMo, right guys?
(
http://www.futureme.org) FutureMe
Reading the randoms is a bit like (
http://grouphug.us/) GroupHug but the exercise of writing one isn't anywhere near as likely to induce the cathartic/depressive wankery or sloppy sleazy erotic fanfiction writing you see there. I think the idea is more to present yourself with thoughts on where you are now and what you want for the future, like a web 2.0 version of New Year resolutions.
Just thought some people might be interested in doing this, and as sort of a tie-in to that (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118063) Your Good & Bad thread, any reflections on the year you want to share?

I remember I saw this site a few years back (or one similar to it) and wrote a huge message about how I felt at the time, what was going on in life, and my thoughts on how things would eventually turn out.
Unfortunately I had the amazing foresight of setting the send date to about 20 years :weird:
Chances of website still being around - slim
Chances of having exactly the same e-mail address - slim
Chances of junk mail filter catching it if website is still around and e-mail address the same - Pretty high
It's a shame - I'd love to read what I wrote and have a good giggle at how stupid it was :laff:

I suppose it could be used for utilitarian purposes, but uh, well... It does seem a bit silly. I mean, it's like yelling "NOTE TO SELF..." in public. If it was that important that I remember, I'd set up a reminder on my phone.

I think you've misunderstood the concept, Ko0K.
The concept involves you not taking yourself so seriously.

Interviewer: Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?
Mitch: Celebrating the 5th anniversary of you asking me this question.
