I've been trying to get these three games working for a while now. I've spent many hours on each one. They used to work, but somewhere in the time when I wasn't actively playing them, some part of my hardware or software evidently changed and now none of them will work. I've read the F.A.Q. threads; I'm pretty sure I've tried all relevant fixes, and none of them have worked. I've done searches on Google and this site looking for my specific problems, and tried dozens of things. No luck.
Any help received would be greatly appreciated; these three games are my three favorites of all time, and I cannot play any of them. I've used the dual-core fixes. I've tried removing the semicolon in front of various CFG files and otherwise fiddling with them. I've tried downloading alternate EXE files and other community fixes. And I've downloaded and installed the Premium Patch instead of the regular one for Thief II: The Metal Age. I have pretty much executed every fix suggested for the error messages I've gotten or for freezes.
I'm running Windows XP on an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+, with a Geforce 7800 GT graphics card. I'm not sure what my sound card is; I believe it's built into my mainboard. Device Manager lists a Realtek AC'97, but that might just be the driver or something.

I especially like how you haven't actually told us what the problem is.

Oops! The problem with all three is the black screen freeze after the game loads. The main menu works, but if I actually try to get into the game, after loading up the screen goes black and freezes. I can Alt-Tab out and shut down the game. My graphics card driver version is 6.14.11.7519.

Have you tried DDFix?

I don't think so. What's that?

Considering that you read all the FAQs, that's proof just how out-of-date the FAQs are. They seriously need to be updated. DDFix is the patch you need to run Dark Engine games on modern computers, basically.

Thanks for the help. I'll give this a shot and return here with the results.

I tried the manual install of DDFix on Thief II. No dice.

Try this:
modify "Target" in your shortcut to:
C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C start /affinity 1 thief2.exe
to dedicate the first CPU core to the game (or "/affinity 2" for the second, and so on)
