Guy Kewney comes off as a bit of a dick in his blog entry about it:

I actually went to that IRC server. While I was there Guy Kewney said the other Guy was probably an illegal immigrant, too.

It is at this point, just about a minute before I'm due to go on, that anybody watching the channel would have been fascinated to see me introduced live on air, as the expert witness in the studio.
Hahaha, what a self-absorbed fag. :laff:

He is an ignoramus. He thinks that more than 24 people are watching BBC News 24 at any one time of day :cheeky:

What I love is how the talking head blathers on with the interview, oblivious to the fact that the guy is essentially saying over and over, "Uh...yeah...uh...people are going to download music..." which is an 'expert' opinion that any asshat could deliver.

Yeah, she totally should have confronted him about it on live TV, as interviewers world-wide usually do.

I guess I'm just amused that people actually watch the news and think they've learned something when 90% is relaying information that is so obvious to most that it doesn't matter whether it's given by an expert or not. Of course she can't confront him on live television, but you'd think she'd take some initiative to try and draw a little deeper commentary from the guy - at least enough to realize 'oops - I've got the wrong man' and end it quickly.

Not really because of annoying BBC video player pop-up links not being direct and all sorts of baloney.
I tried, but the link it gave me just took you to some help page.
